Pinpingho is one of the strongest Shaman players in the game, so it’s always interesting to see what he’s currently using on the ladder. Right now, instead of the Aggro Shaman, he’s gone with a more midrange version of Shaman with double Bloodlust for burst. Midrange Shaman seems to be slowly piecing together a quality deck. It got Totem Golem and Tuskarr Totemic in TGT, and now has Tunnel Trogg from LOE. Maybe with the next expansion this style of deck will be able to climb into the top tier!

I’m playing a slow, more midrange-y style build with Defender of Argus, Brann, and Fireguard Destroyer without bloodlust and Tunnel Trogg and am currently loving it. I’m still trying to perfect the list, but so far it seems great against the slower decks like Freeze Mage and Control Warrior, it shits on all forms of Rogue, but struggles quite a bit with Secret Pally and Aggro Shaman. I guess Trogg can help in the early game quite a bit. Do you use the Trogg to do early damage an dmake it easier to win off bloodlust, or do you use it to trade uo into bigger minions for value?

    – 2x Tuskarr
    – 1x Bloodlust
    + 1x Defender of Argus
    + 1x Lightning Storm
    + 1x Loatheb

I just hit rank 1 with this version.

Omg this deck is great. I’m running a bit modified version of it and it’s been freaking awesome!
    – 1 Al’Akir
    – 1 Zombie Chow
    – 2 Rock Biter
    + 1 Earth Shock
    + 1 Lightning Storm
    + 1 Swamp Ooze
    + 1 Fireguard Destroyer

Rock Biters are not worth it if you’re not running Al’Akir, and I’m not since I don’t have it. This makes me unable to burst without a board, but allows me to add some other nice stuff. The additional lightning storm helps a lot against secret paladins that are swarming the ladder. Swamp Ooze for the same reason (plus other weapon classes ofc). Earth Shock is also super helpful against secret paladins, also helps you to push through with Bloodlust for a cheap price. Fireguard Destroyer is there to have another decent threat and it has nice synergy with Tunnel Trogg. Cutting 1 Zombie Chow hasn’t been to bad, still able to find turn 1 play very consistently. Still trying to figure out if I could add Thalnos or Loatheb to protect the board since there’s no empty board burst without Al’Akir + Rockbiters. Could probably try cutting Ooze or Fireguard Destroyer for Loatheb.

Annoy-o-Tron or Argent Squire could work.

I use Gadgetzan Jouster. It’s a bit rng but works fine most times

Isnt it a bit odd to not have a 4 drop?

You’re usually overloaded at 4 mana (Feral Spirits, Lightning Storm…).

Is it necessary to have two Bloodlust ? In most Shaman decks in general, I just see one of it, so I’m wondering 🙂

That’s been my experience as well, but it’s hard to disagree with Pinpingho because he’s so good with the class.

        What about a Doomhammer instead?

I feel like the bursty aspext of AlAkir is more important here than the fatty aspect.

Doomhammer with replace that role and give the deck some reach.

      I run Kel’thuzad actually.
Sounds odd but in a class like Shaman where your board is SOOO important I find he works very well.
