It doesn’t matter if you got life or armor (as long as the battlecry doesn’t kill you), so you don’t need heal. The reason is the same as for diremole, it’s a 1/3 for 1 mana and that’s just an insane early drop. Hard to remove and therefore a good target for buffs.
