Mulligans
General Mulligans
It is extremely important that you mulligan for Kabal Lackey and or Counterspell/Spellbender because this gives you a powerful opener that will lead into your next few turns. While your opponent is trying to figure out what secret you just played, your Lackey will start cashing in the face damage necessary for you to win. Arcanologist is very powerful because it gives you your 3rd turn. Fishing up entity with it will help you bring in more face damage regardless of what your opponent plays. Kirin Tor Mage is obviously important to have if you play Arcanologist due to the 4 attack for 3 mana. Smacking face constantly will lead you close to a win condition.
Generally any other cards you end up with in mulligan will be sitting in your hand until turn 4+ so this deck is quite reliant on the fact that you need a powerful opener.
Tired of noobs who are only good because their decks are impossible to beat? This decks centers around stomping the noobs who don’t know how to play correctly and causes them to fall into the pitfalls of secrets.
This Aggro deck has some amazing experiences when it comes to defeating the noobs on ladder. Quest rogue a problem? Counter spell their quest reward. Can’t beat Jade druids? Aggro them down by protecting your high value minions with spells.
The biggest combo/high value play is to drop Cabal Crystal Runner or Ethereal Arcanist with either or both Counterspell or Spellbender. This way they are protected from spells that would normally kill them. Many noobs tend to fall into the trap that getting ride of counterspell is enough before they cast a single target removal on something. Only to realize that they just Hexed a 1/3 minion, or fireballed your 1/3.
Pyroblast isn’t necessary for victory in this deck, it’s more of filler card. It can be useful for when you opponent puts up many taunts with low face health, or drops one massive taunt minion. I threw it in there because it helped me deal with running out of steam with a low health opponent.
Gadgetzan Auctioneer is also more of a filler card. While not necessary, when facing Noob Netdeck types, this card is your biggest trap yet. Most noobs when they see this card thing that if it isn’t dealt with right away, your opponent will get some massive value. While this can be true if you happened to hold on to a Kirin Tor, or a Lackey, this card won’t get much value from the high cost of secrets. So saving it for a majory distraction from your Crystal Runners, or Arcanists is very powerful against noobs.
This deck is entirely focuses on defeating netdeck noobs. So naturally it will be hard for anyone to win if you’re probably in the higher ranks where people actually posses some level of skill. So I wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to troll them. Best chances of victory come when your opponent is a slobbering runt who looked up the “best deck” on the internet thinking he’s the best player in the world.
P.S. it is crucial you spam greetings when you can tell your opponent is struggling vs your secrets.
