Mulligans
Using Aluneth and affair of run out of cards? Worry no more, our opponent will face it instead.
As you know, Blizzard new patch – Kobold and Catacomb is released. This has a lot of new cards, but as a mage player, Aluneth take my most concern.
Aluneth for Secret
At first sight, i think we can draw only 3 turns with this, but its not! It makes us draw ultil fatigue and suicide. So i found the 1st solution for this: Naga Corsair – It’s the only neutral card that +1 weapon attack (we have Spiteful Smith too, but not quite good)
Then, the 2nd problem comes: How can i play 3 turns attack? People loves Exodia, but i dont have any Antonidas. So i choose budget Secret mage. We have defense, we have minion with low cost, low dust and most important is board clear for mage to attack (Thank to Doomsayer and Counterspell is on! So King's Ransom can be countered by this.
Strategy
How it works? Make em confused with plenty secret and bait em use spell early by clear board and freeze minions. When your deck is end (1 or 0 card remains), use combo: King Togwaggle – Kabal Lackey – Counterspell (free 1 mana at 10).
How to survive until we have full combo? Boardclear, Freeze, Armor, Secret and draw cards.
So i have to wait? No, just play normally, and use this combo when ready.
How can you make sure they will be trapped? No i dont, but when they’re zoned to the edge with -1 fatigue, people cannot quite conscious enough to use any more spell.
But its still draw 3 cards? Naga Corsair can help this, attack small minions to reduce damage suffer. 3 times and you free.
Is it undefeated? There’s 2 things that make it’s still a fun deck:
- they can dodge the Counter spell,
- Your badluck. Cannot draw Aluneth soon.
Conclusion
IMO, This is still a budget and triable deck. You are dependented on luck of the draw. I hope you can have fun with this or make em better with your choices.

This deck is really bad. You should put that in the description that you have to have all three of the cards (King/Lackey/Counterspell) described to even attempt to get it to work. By then its so obvious what you’re attempting that they never fall for the counterspell. Very frustrating and a waste of dust if you dont have the cards.
