Deck Import

Definitely a deck that can hold its own against most decks out there. At least it has thus far for me. It’s got a decent early game to keep up with most aggro and zoo decks as long as you stay ontop of your health. A very solid midgame, with a good finisher in late game.

Of course like any deck out there, you can trade a few cards out to make it fit your particular play style. I know most would rather have Sylvanas Windrunner  rather than a second Cabal Shadow Priest , either way they’re both decent cards with good control aspects in their own right. The priest however, is slightly cheaper dust wise if you need to make them. I wouldn’t recommend trying to run all three however, since it makes your deck a more lategame pusher. That wont serve to protect you well against those pesky early game decks.

Like most other dragon decks, Chillmaw  is a must, it is a good board wiper, or crippler should you need it, as well as a strong taunt defender. If anything else it’ll make the opponent think twice.

Shadow Madness is a card I personally love, especially since those low cost creatures so widely used are great targets for them. It can take those Sludge Belcher‘s and if pushed correctly killed off to give you a permanent low taunt defender. That or just whittling down their board control by possibly two creatures.

As for other dragons well you have a good strong mix of low to high cost cards to keep you in the game throughout all three phases. A healthy dose of taunt and effects to try and keep yourself in control of the board while keeping the opponent on their toes. Nefarian is a strong hitter, but it can be switched out with any other high end dragon you see fit.

To me, it’s a well balanced deck for a priest that sometimes has been hard to push into the high tier brackets deck wise. This deck will definitely push you through the rank’s with some tweeks to fit your play style and timing of your strategies. Just keep up with your health and control the board with the wide range of cards and effects at your disposal.

I find the draw to be very decent, the lower dragon cards can help you hold out while you wait for the more situational things. I also believe if you try and push more draw into the deck, you may loose the dragon aspect or the control.

As for the switching of Shadow Madness, you are able to, though I personally find them very useful myself. The Museum Curator is decent gives you another creature on the field, though perhaps Shrinkmeister maybe a little better with the potential combo it has with Cabal Shadow Priest in taking slightly better cards, like Yersa for one.

Thought steal could be decent if you’re looking to use the opponents cards against them, and keeps with the slight control theme. Zombie Chow I just really dislike unless you have Auchenai Soulpriest. With that combo at least you have a chance to not return health to the opponent. But the deck isn’t really setup for Auchenai in my opinion. Holy Smite, is good but it’s single target use kind of brings trouble when aggro seems to like walls of creatures.

Regardless of those choices, give them a shot, you’re right it is all very situational.

As far as Aoe’s Lightbomb is a good card, the only issue with it is that it hits your creatures as well. Sure, you may not have a lot out at once, but could also hurt you more than your opponent. Holy Fire I enjoy just a bit more because it heals your player as well, keeps you on the health curve a bit. Plus it’s a decent nuke on those more annoying 5/5 creatures they may throw at ya. Though, it all depends Lightbomb is definitely a good card to try and see if it helps curve the weakness potentially to aggro or bigger threats.

I would replace Holy Fire with Light Bomb or is it a slight overkill within AOE department… Any thoughts on that guys?

I really liked this deck so far.
    Thanks for posting!

But i want to cut a shadow madness to replace it. I find it too situational
    What should i choose?
Something to get more consistency against aggro like Holy smite, Museum Curator, Shrinkmeister, Zombie Chow…
Or should i go with thoughtsteal to reinforce control matchups.

If a wise person could help me 😉

Is this deck OK with the draw ? Only 1 shield and 2 azur drake, no cleric.

It really just depends on what you’re looking for in your heavy hitter dragons really. I love Ysera’s ability, but Neferian hits a lot harder. Hell, alexstrasza, even holds a bit of sway as well.

I don’t like Nefarian in Dragon Priest. His effect seems less good than Ysera’s and he becomes your only BGH target.
