Trying Out Gwent? Check out Gwentify!

Hey everyone, I try to keep the sites I run pretty separate and on topic, but I figured a lot of Hearthstone players might be checking out Gwent for the first time. Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I really loved Gwent so I jumped on the opportunity to start a website following the stand alone game once the announcement was made. The site has come a long way since then, and I just got done making a bunch of new updates.

Here’s what Gwentify has to offer:

  • Gwent Card Database
  • Gwent Deck Database
  • Gwent Deck Builder
  • Article Builder
  • Gwent Collection Manager
    • You can keep track of your collection, as well as see which cards you are missing from any deck you are browsing. This is something I plan to bring to Hearthstone Top Decks soon!
  • Gwent Legendary Card Helper
    • This one is a big help to newer players. In Gwent, your guaranteed Rare, Epic, or Legendary card is given to you as an option of three. This is great, as you can choose a card you don’t have or one that you really need. However, if you get a Legendary card choice and are a new player, you might not know which is best. Well, I paired up with the good people at Gwentlemen, to create a tool that allows you to input the cards and helps make a choice for you!

Basically, if you’re a fan of Hearthstone Top Decks, you’ll be a fan of Gwentify. I hope to see some of you over there! Now back to your regularly scheduled Hearthstone content!

Hearthstone Top Decks Discord!

Hey everyone, I’ve created a Discord for Hearthstone Top Decks. I hope it can become a fun environment for people to discuss Hearthstone, as well as a way for people to give feedback on the site.

I’m still a bit new with Discord, so if you know of ways to improve it, please feel free to comment here or talk to me on the Discord server!

You can check it out here: Hearthstone Top Decks Discord

Hearthstone Deck Comparison’s Tool

Hey everyone, I added the Hearthstone Deck Comparison’s tool yesterday and I just wanted to talk a bit more about it. The tool currently allows you to compare three decks to each other to see what cards are unique and how each deck varies, the tool also compares their mana curves. I’m hoping to add more to this in the future, such as adding the ability to compare more than three decks at a time and pulling out other stats.

Edit: I meant to mention that one of the reasons I moved forward with this tool was because of blisterguy’s tweets comparing multiple versions of decks together. So shoutout to him for doing some awesome work!

Faded cards represent duplicate cards across all decks, fully opaque cards represent at least one difference between decks.

How-to Use the Tool

You’ll find checkboxes on many of the pages that display lists of decks. You can check up to three of these and using the “Compare Decks” button at the bottom page will take you to a page that compares those decks together (example).

You can also find deck comparison on deck pages. Right now it will only appear if the deck has a categorized Deck Archetype (example):

You can also just go directly to the deck comparison page itself. I’ve listed a bunch of the most popular deck archetypes.

That’s it for now, let me know what you think and how you might improve the tool. Thanks!

Site Update: Archetype Guides Now Include Winrate Stats!

I’m always on the look out for ways to improve the site, we’ve recently been investing into more content via deck guides and general guides to help you better play and understand the game. Now, I’m happy to announce that we’re working with Metastats to provide winrate statistics on our archetype deck guides!

On the home page you’ll find the section for Deck Guides. The most recently updated lists will have winrate statistics under the mulligan sections. Here’s an example:

These winrates are automatically updated weekly, so they will stay relevant as the meta moves forward.

Here are some of the guides that feature winrate stats:

Thanks again to Metastats for providing us with the statistics!

New Feature: Playtest Your Deck!

Hearthstone Top Decks has a new feature, you can now playtest your deck! What does that mean? Well, there are times when you just quickly want to get a sense of how a deck might play. You might not have all the cards, or you might just be trying to cycle through ideas. This can be a bit tedious, whether you’re trying decks against the computer or a friend. The playtest feature allows you to quickly try mulligans, get a chance to see how your deck will curve out, and generally just get a sense of how your deck will play!

If you just want to see what the playtester looks like click here.

Here are some of the interesting features of the playtester!

Playtest Any Deck

Every deck currently has a button that you can easily click on and instantly try the deck. This is nice to try out pro style decks without having to have all of the cards available!

Playtest a Newly Created Deck

This is probably my favorite feature. You can create a deck with our Hearthstone Deck Builder, and immediately playtest it without submitting. You can also use this feature without being registered! Once you’ve compiled the 30 cards you’d like to test out, the playtest button will enable and allow you to try it out!

Playtesting the Deck

As for the playtester itself, you can simulate mulligans, draw cards, play minions and spells, equip a weapon, and discard!

Simulate Discover and RNG Effects

If you’re testing a Priest deck, and drop a Museum Curator, you can click the “Simulate Discover” button and set the Deathrattle parameter which will grant you three potential card options to choose from!

You can also generate Deathrattle effects, by using the “Simulate Random Draw/Summon” button and entering the parameters you’d like to replicate.

More Features to Come!

There are other things I want to add in the future, but I’d like to get a sense of how useful people find this feature before investing more time in it. Let me know what you think below, or if there’s anything you’d like to see in the future! Please also let me know of any bugs below in the comments.

Coming Soon

  • Mobile Support: This might be hard to put together, but I’d like to see it in the future.
  • Faster Discover and RNG Effects: I want to add a drop down of cards with these effects instead of forcing people to select each parameter. I plan to keep the parameters so people can experiment with how a custom card might work.
  • Multiple Card RNG Effects: Currently you just get one card dropped into your hand, I want to make it so summon cards add to the minions field, and card draw goes to your hand. Nefarian also generates multiple cards, so allowing for this is something I want to add.
  • Draw a Specific Card: The ability to draw a specific card to your hand from your deck. I even might extend this to all cards in general.
