The Witchwood was originally, “Murder on the Gilnean Express.” It had two different keywords: Investigate & Ghostly. Investigate allowed you to build a “murderer minion” that you would build via multiple discoveries that could add divine shield, etc. Ghostly literally meant “discard at the end of your turn.” Here are some cards that were playtested with, but WILL NOT be in the expansion:

Ghostly Echoes

Echo wasn’t always Echo. It began life as the keyword “Ghostly”—these were cards that had to be played the turn they were drawn, or else they would disappear. The team quickly discovered that the most fun Ghostly cards put copies of themselves into your hand.

The path forward became clear and the Echo keyword was born!  Echo cards return a copy of themselves to your hand on the same turn they’re played, so if you have the mana required, you can play them again and again!

With Echo, you’ll gain access to useful early game cards that can also be valuable in the late game. Some you might want to use all your mana to play, while others offer interesting decisions about how to get the most out of the effect.

Echo cards capture the spooky spirit of The Witchwood, and give you more decisions to make about how your hunt for the macabre creatures lurking in the forest will play out!

    “investigate” hah
blizz is basically copying everything from mtg. Yeah MTG is the father of all, but using the exact word of “investigate”, and also using the same setting as Innistrad is just lame.

I know some fanboy will come here and say “but it is a test card bla bla” So let me add “f.ck off”

Imagine if they actually went through with the Ghost keyword… Quest Warlock might have actually been okay

As excited as I am about the new expansion called ‘The Witchwood’ … how f***ing cool is ‘Murder on the Gilnean Express’!? With Investigate and Ghostly?

Would have been some crazy Agatha Christie-Nosferatu-horror setup.

And yeah, Warpath is kinda busted. Pretty good card.

I had pretty much the same reaction across the board. I love the theme of The Witchwood, but Murder on the Gilnean Express would have been SOOOO GOOOOOD. Oh, well. Maybe one day we’ll get a murder mystery themed expansion.

Warpath does seem like a pretty good card. Can’t wait to see more of the set drop! I think Echo is my favorite new Hearthstone mechanic in a long time.

Is Warpath the best thing since Defile, or is that just me? It is obviously different, but Warrior plays differently and can use it in different ways. Such a useful Common, I’m thinking this will be in any kind of Warrior control, or even Midrange if one appears in the next meta.

I like the “Ghost” card. Would have been a cool card even without the keyword. 1 mana 2/2. Discard at the end of your turn if still in hand.

Maybe even like a untamed beast for hunter. I know, I know, but hunter hasn’t been strong for a while.
