The Rise of Shadows Pre-Release Information

The official Rise of Shadows release on April 9 will be preceded by a pre-release, starting on April 5 at 10 AM PDT. But what is a pre-release exactly? It’s a period of time when (during special events) you can open your card packs and play against other participants in one of the Fireside Brawls, while using new cards. This time around, anyone can host a pre-release event, so if you want to play around with Rise of Shadows early with a group of friends, you can do that!

Read all the details about the Fireside Brawls that will be available during the events, as well as how to host one, below!

It’s Pre-Release season once more, and it feels like the shadows are creeping up on us. There’s certainly something villainous in the offing—scowls and menacing looks abound as the unmistakable scent of E.V.I.L. fills the air.

Embrace the E.V.I.L. this Pre-Release season by hosting a Pre-Release party! The Rise of Shadows Pre-Release will run from 10 a.m. PDT on April 5 to 10 a.m. PDT on April 8. (Secret passwords at the door are recommended for maximum effect.)

Rise of Shadows Pre-Release Parties

Pre-Release parties are no longer limited events. This means that anyone can host a Pre-Release, whether you’re an established innkeeper, college student or campus organizer, or simply someone who wants to set up an exciting weekend activity for your family and friends.

In addition to opening your packs early, the Rise of Shadows Pre-Release will also feature Fireside Brawls that will let you play with your shiny new cards before the official release.

  • In the Rise of Shadows: No Cards Barred! Brawl, you’ll be able to construct decks using the cards that you open during the Pre-Release event. There are no restrictions on class or duplicates, so go crazy!
  • – There’s also An E.V.I.L. Recipe, a pre-constructed Brawl that will include new deck recipes from the upcoming set for you to play with. You won’t need to have pre-purchased packs in order to play this Brawl, though you might want to do so to maximize your Pre-release experience!

Host a Rise of Shadows Pre-Release Party

Kick things off by heading over to FiresideGatherings.com. Be sure to indicate if your event will be open to the public, or unlisted for just close friends and family. Public events will be approved automatically.

For those who want to host private Fireside Gatherings, detailed instructions are available here. If you’re a college student or campus organizer who is ready to pick up the innkeeper’s apron, you can sign up to host a special Tespa Pre-Release party here. All Fireside Gatherings hosted during the Pre-Release window, whether they’re public or unlisted, will have access to the Pre-Release features.

If you’re hosting your own event, here’s some art you can use to welcome potential attendees:

Once your event is approved, you can do any or all of the following:

  • Share your event on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with our nifty poster generator.
  • If your event is private, download the poster and send it directly to friends you want to invite.
  • Pre-purchase Rise of Shadows card packs to open during your Pre-release event.
  • Make sure you have enough chairs by the hearth.
  • Let the Shadows Rise!

We can’t wait for you to try out the new cards, so look for a Pre-Release party close to you . . . and get in there!

Is that a local hosting party? I mean, i watched the list of Pre-Release Events before. They are listed with city names or smth. If i do host that event and invite lets say my whole Hearthstone friendlist. Does it work that way? And are any specific requirements to traffic or speed of my internet or smth? Is it that simple? I cant join any other pages right now to read. So a little feedback would be great :).

I did it last year only for fun on my own wifi for only myself in a private local gathering. Could open all the packs early without any issue.

I never understood the principle of announcing a release date and the announcing another release date before that date …

Just tell us date and time and release it. Meta will be solved soon enough, no reason to prepone that!?

The RoE page says we can make private gatherings – but the private gatherings instructions page says we aren’t eligible for celebration campaigns.

Do you know if we’ll get to access the pre-release just by having a gathering during those hours, even though it says no celebrations on the private gatherings instructions page?
