Tavern Brawl Your Standard Brawliseum (Boomsday Edition) – Best Decks for the Brawliseum

This week’s Tavern Brawl is called Your Standard Brawliseum. This is the first one from The Boomsday Project, and if you haven’t played one of these before, let me tell you what it’s all about! You get your first entry free, and then you input a deck. Once you’ve locked in your deck you won’t be able to change it until you win 12 games or lose three. This is pretty much exactly like the Arena but with your own custom deck!

Best Decks for Boomsday Standard Brawliseum

While the Boomsday Project has been out for a short time a lot of decks have popped up to the top of the meta. Here’s a list of some options for you to try. We’ll update with more precise lists as we see what is working and how the Brawliseum meta shakes out.

Also, check out our Best Boomsday Decks for more specific lists.

Anyone that can build a decent deck and needs more BDP packs really screwed up not playing Brawliseum. At 4-5 wins you will probably average a net positive and it only gets better from there.

I like the Brawliseum because it’s a true test of skill. If you’ve got a good deck on ladder it’s just about how much time you have to grind as the law of averages will eventually get you higher. In this format, though, you have to be good to do well and doing well feels really good.

It’s for the competitive types with good decks. Not every brawl has to cater for F2P or new players.

I went 6 wins with Odd Rogue on my free run which is probably a record for me. Only two wins on the second run with Even Shaman, though. I should probably have net-decked that one!

Went 12-1 with Odd Rogue. I wasn’t expecting the deck to be that good, but it turns out that it’s great vs all Warlocks and Deathrattle Hunters out there. The only loss was vs a Taunt Druid that had two Wild Growths in the starting hand, two Spellstones to clear my HCT and Flappy Bird, and a Primordial Drake to AOE the board I had left.

I understand those that don’t like this kind of Brawls, but they’re an excellent opportunity for skilled players with a Tier 1 or 2 deck to farm gold. It’s not just that you earn Arena rewards (and from 7 wins onwards you go infinite), but you ALSO get 10 gold per 3 wins because it’s a Tavern Brawl. Also, they don’t happen that often: once every new expansion release and once or twice a year for the Wild format, if I recall correctly.

I honestly don’t really like these Brawleseum brawls. Like, if I wanted to play ladder I’d go play ladder, and if I wanted to play arena I’d play arena. What I want from a tavern brawl is a wacky one-off format that makes me think about the game in new ways.

0 wins. As a newer player, facing off versus people with more established decks make winning nearly impossible. definitely not the most fair brawl πŸ™

Thats the problem with constructed in this game. F2P or newer players don’t stand a chance against these netdecks.

I managed two wins with an account I started last week. Got Whizbang and went for it here πŸ™‚

I mean why would and/or should random decks have a good time against most tested, well-built netdecks? If you’re complaining that it’s impossible to make a good deck as F2P or a new player that’s incorrect. Just about anyone can make a Zoo Warlock deck with the only large must-have craft being Prince Keleseth.

If they did this Brawl last week, there wouldn’t be that many netdecks and more people would try fun decks instead of trying to win.

This brawl more than others is for everyone to tryhard and win though. Why do you think there would be less netdecks?

I know it’s not fun to get destroyed but the rewards are better than any other week.

I played Deathrattle Hunter, and my first 3 games were against the unfavored heal zoo matchup.
