Patch 26.6 Known Issues

Patch 26.6 was released yesterday, along the new Twist game mode and new expansion announcement. Basically every major patch comes with some bugs – when you add new things or change the old ones, you’re bound to encounter some errors that will quickly be found once playerbase gets their hands on your product. This time doubly so, because a new game format means that players have a lot more opportunities to break game in new ways.

Blizzard posted a list of known issues yesterday. Since then, a bunch more were already added and some were resolved (such as BG Missions not progressing).

They also added clarification that Twist bonus stars are based on your Wild MMR and that it’s not a bug. In the future seasons, Twist will have its own MMR and won’t be tied to Wild. It wasn’t previously announced and many people assumed that everyone will start with no bonus.

Check out a full list of known issues below. I’ll keep updating it as new ones are added or resolved + post about any upcoming hotfixes.

Patch 26.6 is now live on desktop. This massive patch includes the pre-purchase for Hearthstone’s next expansion, TITANS; the launch of Hearthstone’s latest mode, Twist; and the first part of Battlegrounds’ mid-season update!

Clarification: Twist ladder bonuses are based on your Wild ladder multiplier (aka bonus stars). This is not a bug and was intentionally done as a way to try to efficiently tier the new Mode’s matchmaking. In the future, Twist will have its own multiplier, just like Standard and Wild have their own multipliers.

Here are some issues we’re tracking with this patch:

  • [Added 6/27] [Hearthstone]: Prison of Yogg-Saron doesn’t show the cards cast to both players while casting them. This will be resolved in a hotfix update soon. In the meantime, both players can see the cards cast by checking the history tile.
  • [Added 6/27] [Twist/Shop]: The Druid Battle-Ready Deck for Twist is not quite as battle-ready as we’d hope. Specifically, due to some late updates in the list, it accidentally includes Jerry Rig Carpenter without any Choose One cards. We suggest you use your free Core Set cards to make some tweaks to the deck, like replacing Jerry Rig Carpenter with Pounce or replacing another card with Feral Rage. We plan to update the shop product in a future patch to replace Jerry Rig Carpenter with a different Rare (Umbral Owl).
  • [Resolved 6/27] [Twist]: Due to the launch of Twist, we discovered a bug where Nellie, the Great Thresher causes crashes if the class playing her does not have enough Pirates for her effect (like when a Paladin gets her off The Countess’s Legendary Invitations) during these Twist Beta seasons where Neutral cards are excluded. Due to this issue, we’re temporarily instituting a fix where a class that doesn’t have enough Pirates will be able to discover Pirates from other classes. This is not expected to be a permanent change and it should only apply to these seasons of Twist, due to the combination of the card pool and ruleset.
  • [Added 6/27] [Battlegrounds]: Flourishing Frostling will incorrectly appear as having 0 attack. This is a visual-only bug that will resolve itself in-game once you get your first copy. This issue will be resolved in a hotfix update soon.
  • [Resolved 6/27] [Battlegrounds]: The team is investigating reports of Battlegrounds Missions and Track not progressing.
  • [Added 6/27] [Battlegrounds]: The “Follow the Money” Quest is inappropriately progressing while in combat. We’ve temporarily removed the Quest from the Sire Denathrius pool while we investigate the issue.
  • [Updated 6/28] [Shop]: The Golden Phoenix Bundles Rank 1 and 2 are intended to award Golden Legendary cards. The Rank 1 Bundle’s content was wrong has been corrected. The Rank 2 Bundle’s content was correct, but its text was wrong and has been corrected. Players who bought the Rank 1 Bundle before this content correction will be adjusted later.
  • [Added 6/27] [Cosmetics]: The Inge Death Knight hero skin (part of the TITANS Mega Pre-Purchase Bundle) is missing her hero tray. It has been found and will be added in the next major patch.
  • [Added 6/28] [Hearthstone]: The team has identified an issue sometimes causing the “error starting your game” bug when queuing with (or against) a deck that includes both Prince Renathal and E.T.C., Band Manager. The fix is scheduled for an upcoming hotfix.
  • [Added 6/28] [Hearthstone]: The team is investigating reports that some minions (mostly tokens) are sometimes appearing as invisible. (Can one ever “appear” invisible? )

There is a bug that is bothering me a lot and I have already made some updates that persist. Every time I go to play a tradeable card into the deck, the game crashes and closes by itself. This is very irritating, I’ve seen reports in other forums and in a group that I participate in wpp. I already opened a ticket about it and got no response. Do you know something I can do? Ps. I’m sorry for my bad english. I go to your site every day and I must say it is the best content and always up to date news from HS.

I can report bugs to the developers if you give me some more details. What’s the system you’re playing on (PC, Android, iOS) and when did it start happening? Have you tried to reinstall the game? Also, do I understand it right – it happens literally every time you try to Trade any card?

      And thank you! 🙂

I’m playing on PC, started a couple of updates ago. I’ve tried to repair the game, uninstalled and installed again and the bug persists. Yes, every time I try to play any swappable cards in the deck, the game just crashes.

“Twist ladder bonuses are based on your Wild ladder multiplier”, that’s not true i reach legend in wild at least last 3-4 season (even this season before the twist launch) and give me only 7 stars not 10.

I think devs have clarified somewhere that it’s not based on your Wild bonus starts but on the internal Wild MMR. There’s a slight difference between those two.

E.g. one player gets to Legend and keeps winning with competitive decks. Another gets to Legend and plays meme decks, falls down to low Legend ranks.

Both players have 10 bonus stars (let’s assume that the first one didn’t cross 11 stars threshold) but their internal MMRs might be completely different. That’s because bonus stars are based on rank you get to not your MMR. So it looks like your internal MMR had to be lower than your star bonus.

Yeah, of course it is, after legend i play trash deck to make achievement (sometime even before legend), and one thing is play even shaman with two 4/5 frog (the deck still can win), another thing is to play the 3/6 cost 6 owl of druid/lock (your deck is definetely worse).

        I wish i could do in friendly….
