(UPDATE: FIXED ON ANDROID & IOS!) Patch 22.6 Delayed on Mobile – It Will Be Available “Over The Next Few Days”

Update: You can now download Patch 22.6 on Google Store (Android devices). It looks like the update became available earlier than anticipated by the delay announcement! I don’t have any info about iOS devices yet.

Update #2: I’m hearing reports that the patch is now out on iOS. It’s still 24h after the patch release, but it could have been worse.

I have some sad news. Mobile players are already used to the fact that big patches usually drop a few hours later on Android and iOS devices, but it looks like things will be even worse this time around. Blizzard has identified some issues with the patch – they already resubmitted it to mobile storefronts, but it might take some more time for those to push an update… and by some more time I mean up to a few more days. Yeah, that sucks.

Keep in mind that the patch is live on PC. So if you download it on PC from your account, you will lock yourself from mobile devices. So if you mostly play on mobile, you either have to switch completely to PC for the next few days or skip the PC patch for now. If you’re on mobile, you will still be able to play against other mobile players who are on Patch 22.4.3. The biggest difference is no BG/Mercenaries updates and no Blademaster Okani free Legendary (and, of course, no cross-play with PC users who are already on 22.6).

We’ll keep you updated once we learn more about the situation. Let’s hope that it gets resolved as quickly as possible.

Hello all,

We identified an issue with our mobile version of the 22.6 patch. We’ve fixed the issue and resubmitted the patch to the mobile storefronts, but it can take some time for those storefronts to update. We expect the 22.6 patch to become available over the next few days, as those storefronts update.

Please be aware that until the mobile patch is available, updating to 22.6 on desktop will block you from being able to play Hearthstone on your mobile device. We advise any players who plan to play on mobile to wait until the 22.6 patch is available on all their devices before updating.

Is it possible to play a matches on different version? I think it’s not possible, what I think will happen is those who have 22.6 patch will match against similar version only. And the same goes to the old version.

Different patch version matches will likely results in some code not fully processed, or may break the game, since the old version doesn’t have or can’t understand new code lines and will ended up crashing. Or so I think (having a little knowledge of programming).

Yep, you can’t “cross-play” with people from different versions. So if you’re at 22.4.3 you can only play others with 22.4.3 and if you’re on 22.6 you can only play others on 22.6.
