Nozdormu Day Comes Tomorrow (July 15) – Keep Open Slot For The New Monthly Quest!

A monthly event known as “Nozdormu Day” was first announced three months ago. It was meant to convince players to try out the new Nozdormu the Eternal card, which forces Blitz matchups (15 seconds turn timer) if both of the players have it in their decks. However, the main issue was that majority of the player base didn’t even know that such a day exists (remember that most of people play casually and don’t pay attention to stuff like that), and those who knew didn’t care enough to do it without any incentive.

Luckily, in the last big patch, Blizzard has added a “Monthly” Quest to celebrate the event. On the 15th day of each month, players should get an extra Daily Quest asking them to play three games with Nozdormu in their deck. You don’t have to win anything and as far as I know, you don’t even have to play AGAINST someone with Nozdormu. All you need to do is put the Legendary Dragon in your deck and play 3 matches (conceding on Turn 1 most likely won’t work).

The Quest will reward players with 1500 XP. It’s honestly not bad – that’s between the Daily & Weekly Quest territory. Sadly I don’t know whether the Quest can be re-rolled yet or not – but keep in mind that re-rolling it will most likely mean that you get less XP since you will most likely land on a 1000 XP Quest instead.

Nozdormu Day Deck Lists

If you’re wondering what deck you can use to clear the Quest… Honestly, it’s quite simple. Just pick a relatively easy deck that doesn’t require tons of thinking and decision-making, one that doesn’t play tons of cards per turn, Discovers multiple new ones etc. Basically, something that you can plan your turns ahead for and you more or less will know how the game is going to go.

Good examples would be straightforward decks such as Face Hunter or Aggro / Elemental Shaman. With those decks, turns often play out themselves. E.g. it’s Turn 3 and you have a 3-drop in your hand… you will most likely just play it and don’t think about it too long. Other solid options should include Deathrattle Demon Hunter or Rush Warrior.

On the other hand, I don’t recommend playing decks that require playing multiple cards per turn in a specific order or generate a lot of new resources, thus introducing variables that you need to think about. Good examples of such decks include Miracle Rogue (which has some very difficult turns in the mid/late game) and Control Priest (which you can’t plan ahead for, since you Discover so many cards and you need to adjust your gameplan accordingly). It’s doubly important if you play them on mobile where your actions will be slightly slower than on PC and animations might take even longer.

I’ll prepare some decks for your convenience tomorrow, but there will be nothing innovative about them – I’ll just take my advice above and put it into action.
