Last Chance To Buy Darkmoon Races Mini-Set Bundle ($14.99 / 2000 Gold) – Is It Worth It?

In case you aren’t aware, today’s the last day you can buy the entire Darkmoon Races mini-set bundled together (according to the official Battle.net page). On May 11 (most likely around the usual 10 AM PDT / 19:00 CEST) you will no longer be able to get it. Of course, it doesn’t mean that you can no longer obtain the cards – you can still open them in Darkmoon Faire packs and craft them. However, the option to get them all for $14.99 or 2000 Gold will expire.

If you still haven’t pulled the trigger and you wonder whether it’s worth it and what’s the best way to get it – you should definitely check out this article by Old Guardian. Mini-set contains a lot of powerful, even meta-defining cards – Crabrider, Armor Vendor, Arbor Up and Hysteria just to name a few. Even Dust-wise (if you were to just disenchant all of the cards), it’s one of the best deals you can get, especially for real money.

Of course, the fact that it rotates out in 2022 does matter, but not a lot. There’s still nearly a year until that happens, and multiple cards from the set will surely see tons of play during that time. It was a great deal when it was released ~3.5 months ago, and honestly it still is.

F2P players saving gold: Note that Magni will come to the shop soon-ish. Also there is the next mini set. In my opinion, the legendaries and epic are trash in this miniset. Point- Spend your gold wisely.

Deathwing is better anyway. I’m waiting for him :p

Sure, but if I was F2P, I’d much rather get more cards / resources than cosmetics. I know that many people will disagree with me here, but Hero portraits are a huge gold bait :p I’d prefer to play the decks I want with a basic skin than struggling to get cool decks while having cool skins.

But of course, it all depends on the circumstances. There are tons of other ways to spend gold on, but value-wise it’s still one of the best purchases in HS if you don’t have the cards (especially for real money). I assume that the next mini-set (which should come out in a few weeks) will also be a good deal, but it’s hard to say how good the cards will be.

As for the next mini-set: its 2000 gold price can be farmed with a bit more than 4 weeks quest, even above Level 100 on rewards track. And it will be there for month.
