Hearthstone’s New Mini-Set Announced – Onyxia’s Lair! Coming Out Next Tuesday (February 15), Card Reveals Over The Next Few Days

The long-awaited Fractured in Alterac Valley mini-set has been just announced. It’s called Onyxia’s Lair, which might not be related to Alterac Valley, but it ties up with this year’s storyline (featuring Lady Katrina Prestor, Onyxia’s human form, as one of the main villains).

Just like the previous mini-sets, Onyxia’s Lair will contain 35 new cards (16x Common, 14x Rare, 1x Epic, 4x Legendary). You can purchase the entire mini-set at once for $14.99 or 2000 Gold. Alternatively, all of the cards will be added to Fractured in Alterac Valley packs, so if you already opened enough, you will be all but guaranteed to get the new ones. However, with 4 Legendaries, purchasing it for 2k Gold is generally a better option. Of course, whether it’s worth it or not all depends on the quality of cards – we’ll first need to see all of the card releases to know whether it’s worth it or not.

For the first time ever, players can also purchase a full Golden mini-set for $69.99. It will give you all 66 cards in their Golden versions. It’s clearly targeted at whales, especially people who want a full golden collection, as it will still be much cheaper than crafting all the new cards in Golden. But it’s an offer an average player can just ignore.

Onyxia’s Lair mini-set launches next Tuesday, February 15. Card reveals should happen over the next few days. A few of them were given to content creators, but we aren’t sure where the rest of them will be posted yet (most likely official channels like Twitter, Facebook or YouTube). In any case, we’ll round all of them up and post them on the website, so you don’t have to go out and look for new cards!

Update:

Blizzard just posted a reveal schedule for Onyxia’s Lair. Here it is for PT time zone:
