Hearthstone Global Games Returns November 15!

Yes, yes! We’ve got more competitive Hearthstone to announce. Hearthstone Global Games, popular throughout 2017 and 2018, are returning by the end of this year, during the Grandmasters off-season.

That said, there are some major changes coming. First of all – teams will now only consist of 2 players and not 4 like last time. First player will be picked based on his performance in the 2019 Masters Tour (highest earner from each country/region gets the first invite). Second player will be invited by Blizzard based on a few different criteria such as lifetime earning and contributions to community (similarly to how the initial Grandmasters were picked). Other differences include the number of teams (32 now, 48 before) and length. 2019 Global Games will be played over the span of four weekends (starting November 15) – 2017 and 2018 seasons were significantly longer.

Matches will be played in Bo5 Conquest with Shield Phase (which I honestly thought was rotating in favor of regular Conquest). Total rewards are $75.000, with $20.000 for the first and $10.000 for the second place.

You will be able to watch the entire event streamed on the official PlayHearthstone Twitch channel. We’ll update you with full schedule etc. closer to the event’s beginning!

Learn more about the event here, or from the official blog post below.

That’s right, Global Games are back for the off-season. Join us in celebrating regional pride and showcasing the best Hearthstone talent from 32 regions from around the globe!

This time around, teams of two will compete online over four weekends through a gambit of Dual Tournament groups with the Shield-Phase best-of-five Conquest format for $75,000 in prizing!

The highest prize earner from each country/region in the 2019 Masters Tour will be first in line for an invite to compete. The second player on each team will be invited directly by Blizzard, based on criteria including lifetime earnings and contributions to the Hearthstone Community.
