Blizzard just posted patch notes for 33.6, launching today. The update should be live on PC right away, and then on mobile devices within the next couple of hours. Here’s a summary of what’s coming:
Across the Timeways – The next Hearthstone expansion was just officially revealed. It’s called “Across the Timeways” and it launches on November 4, 2025. We’ll have a full expansion guide up soon.
Two Free Cards From New Set – Log-in to claim a Legendary card the upcoming set – Mister Clocksworth. You can also claim two copies of Portal Vanguard from the in-game shop.
In-Game Event With New Card – Another new card is launching soon through an in-game event called “Chromie’s Chrono Catastrophe”. Patch notes don’t say when the event starts, but it’s safe to assume that it will begin after the current one is finished. The event has really good rewards – 4 Across the Timeways card packs, 2 Tavern Tickets, early access to the new Semi-Stable Portal Rare Mage card, a new event card (Storm the Gates) and a Nozdormu the Timeless Paladin skin.
Battlegrounds Mid-Season Refresh – As usual, patch .6 brings a huge update to Battlegrounds. The first addition is the return of Buddies, with 10 brand new ones (for Heroes released since the last time we had them) and adjustments for almost 40 of the existing ones to keep things fresh. The second addition is the return of Anomalies – they won’t be available at patch launch, but rather come back shortly after to give player some time to familiarize with the meta first. The pool of Anomalies got refreshed compared to the last season. And finally, the patch will include over 25 updates to existing Heroes, some new minions/spells, and lots of card pool changes.
Free Ladder-Ready Deck For Everyone – Ladder-Ready decks are normally only available for new players and those who return to the game after over 90 days of inactivity. But this time, Blizzard is offering them to every player (outside of China, I assume that China doesn’t get them because they already got lots of cards for free when the game returned there last year). You can pick one of the six available decks and keep all the cards for free. Other five decks will be available for purchase.
Another Darkmoon Faire Treasures – And yes, sadly we’re getting another one of those “gacha” Darkmoon Faire events after the patch is released. This time the main reward is Mythic Alexstrasza skin for Druid and Priest. Patch notes have no info on the pricing (and I’m a bit too busy to log in and check right now), but it’s safe to assume that all pulls will cost the same $158 as before.
Bug Fixes & Game Improvements – Just like every patch, we’re also getting a bunch of bug fixes and smaller game improvements.

Patch 33.6, launching today, starts the countdown to Hearthstone’s next expansion, Across the Timeways, and brings a huge update to Battlegrounds!
Pre-Purchase Across the Timeways
Get ready to travel Across the Timeways on November 4! Time itself is under threat from Murozond, Lord of the Infinite. It’s up to Chromie to stop his master plan to derail all timelines and send them to oblivion. Join her as she travels across the timeways to recruit Fabled Warcraft heroes from the past, present, and alternate timelines and form the ultimate team. Rewind time to take fate into your own hands and fight alongside Nozdormu and the Bronze Dragonflight to protect time. The clock is ticking; it’s almost time to start your adventure Across the Timeways!
Across the Timeways has 145 new collectible cards. You can learn more about the all-new, Legendary Fabled minions, the Rewind keyword, and more in the Across the Timeways Announcement Blog. Clock in early with pre-purchase bundles, available now!
Log in to Hearthstone now to get the Mister Clocksworth Legendary card for free!* With triple Rewind power, he’ll let you rewrite history again and again (and again).
* Limit one per account. After Patch 34.6, Mister Clocksworth will be granted upon opening your first Across the Timeways pack, instead of upon login.
Claim Portal Vanguard from the Shop
Head to the in-game Shop and claim your first time-bending gift: 2 copies of the Rare card, Portal Vanguard, for free!*
* After Patch 34.2, Portal Vanguard can be claimed by owning or obtaining one normal Across the Timeways pack, instead of going to the Shop. Both normal and Golden versions of Portal Vanguard are non-craftable and non-disenchantable and will not drop in Across the Timeways packs.
In-Game Event: Chromie’s Chrono Catastrophe!
As if Chromie didn’t have enough on her hands, time is warping and… Hallow’s End is here a month early?! Help her restore the normal flow of time by completing in-game quests. Fix the timeline to receive two more free cards (Semi-Stable Portal and Storm the Gates) and more rewards:
4x Across the Timeways Packs
2x Normal and Golden versions of Semi-Stable Portal
2x Normal and Golden versions of Storm the Gates
2x Tavern Tickets
2x Golden Portal Vanguard
Nozdormu the Timeless Paladin Hero Skin
Storm the Gates is a Sidequest that lets you craft your own undead monstrosity upon completion. Unlike Legendary Quests, Sidequests are regular spells drawn from your deck with easier goals and faster payoffs.
Battlegrounds Updates
Dev Comment: This midseason update is a huge one! With so much packed into this patch, we wanted to take a moment to walk through the changes and share some insight into our design goals.
First, Hero changes! This patch includes over 25 updates to existing Heroes. Our goal is to make more Heroes feel engaging to play, so Hero selection becomes a more interesting decision. These changes were guided primarily by player feedback. Thank you to everyone who shared thoughts on which Heroes could use a boost.
Next, the return of Buddies! One common critique of Buddies was that many designs felt stale after being unchanged for so long. In addition to introducing 10 brand-new Buddies, we’ve redesigned or adjusted nearly 40 existing ones. Combined with the Hero changes, these updates should open up fresh strategies and give players new reasons to revisit old favorites.
Finally, anomalies are coming back soon! We’ve made a few adjustments based on what we learned last season when they appeared alongside Trinkets. To start, they’ll come back shortly after launch to give players time to get familiar with the new Heroes and Buddies. The pool of returning Anomalies has been refreshed to include more fan favorites, adding a bit more chaos to the mode. We’re also introducing six new Anomalies that directly affect how the Buddy system works.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on how all of these changes play out and will make additional adjustments as needed. We hope you all enjoy the new update and we’ll see you in the Tavern!
Buddies Return
Buddies are back in Battlegrounds! Buddies are powerful minions that come paired with each Hero. Anomalies are also set to make their return in an upcoming update, so stay tuned for more details on that. As of Patch 33.6, Quests are leaving the Tavern.

Empress Alexstraza Heats Up Darkmoon Faire Treasures
Darkmoon Faire Treasures returns with a new curated collection of 10 dazzling prizes. One of the highlights is the Mythic Hero Skin featuring Empress Alexstrasza, a regal reimagining of the iconic Aspect of the Red Dragonflight.
This special version embodies her commanding qualities as a ruler, reflected in her majestic outfit and formidable presence. The skin features a fully animated 3D portrait, a custom hero frame, and a suite of fierce visual effects that bring Empress Alexstrasza’s power to life. When Alexstrasza attacks with a weapon, she enters the battlefield to strike the target directly. Upon winning a match, she unleashes an inferno that burns the opponent and all their minions to ashes, leaving behind a smoldering portrait.
Available from September 29 to October 21, the returning Darkmoon Faire Treasures is our random pull system that also rewards Signature cards, Hero Skins, and more.

Did you open “Hearthstone” from the main menu (you know, the button you normally click to play Standard/Wild)? For me they showed up after I went there.
Can the cards in the deck that we choose to keep turn to dust?
I was not offered a ladder-ready deck after the update. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately nothing.
