Hearthstone 28.6.1 Patch Notes – Battlegrounds Balance Changes & Bug Fixes

Blizzard has just dropped patch notes for a new hotfix update rolling out now. The patch is server-side so you don’t need to download anything, although it doesn’t roll out to all players at once, so it might take up to a few hours for it to “reach” you.

The patch is mostly focused on battlegrounds. There are a bunch of Hero Armor changes (9 buffs, 7 nerfs) and A LOT of Quest changes (both to Quests themselves and the rewards). And finally, Transmuted Bramblewitch has been returned to the minion pool.

On top of that, we’ve got some bug fixes. For Constructed, there’s one fix – Harth Stonebrew finally remembered what Mage’s iconic hand looks like (I still don’t know that, but I’ll update the card’s guide once I find it). Other than that, all of the fixes are regarding Battlegrounds, many of which were mentioned in the 28.6 known issues.

Battlegrounds Updates

Armor Changes

The following heroes have more Armor:

  • Millhouse Manastorm now has 7 Armor at higher levels, still has 10 at lower levels
  • E.T.C., Band Manager now has 8 Armor at higher levels, still has 10 at lower levels
  • Inge, the Iron Hymn now has 11 Armor at higher levels, still has 6 at lower levels
  • Rock Master Voone now has 12 Armor at higher levels, still has 15 at lower levels
  • Mutanus the Devourer now has 13 Armor
  • Cariel Roame now has 14 Armor at higher levels, still has 10 at lower levels
  • Heistbaron Togwaggle now has 14 Armor
  • Elise Starseeker now has 15 Armor
  • Pyramad, Tae’thelan Bloodwatcher, and Y’Shaarj now have 16 Armor

The following heroes have less Armor:

  • Death Speaker Blackthorn now has 10 Armor
  • Fungalmancer Flurgl now has 13 Armor at higher levels, still has 12 at lower levels
  • Alexstrasza and Greybough now have 13 Armor
  • Ambassador Faelin now has 14 Armor
  • Jandice Barov now has 15 Armor
  • Ragnaros the Firelord now has 16 Armor
  • Lich Baz’hial now has 18 Armor

Quest Adjustments

The following Quests are now harder to complete:

  • Fill the Cauldron
  • Find the Murder Weapon
  • Hire an Investigator
  • Pressure the Authorities

The following Quests are now easier to complete:

  • Cry for Help
  • Exhume the Bones
  • Assemble a Lineup
  • Reenact the Murder
  • Crack the Case

Quest Reward Adjustments

Quest Reward Pool Changes:

  • Stable Amalgamation and Tumbling Disaster will no longer be offered to Onyxia or Bru’kan.
  • Beyond the Mirage will no longer be offered in games with Quilboar or Elementals.
  • Ice Sickle, Map of the Unknown, and Alter Ego have been removed from the Quest Reward Pool.

The following Quest Rewards are now harder to earn:

  • Double-Headed Reward
  • Open Auditions
  • Stable Amalgamation
  • Snicker Snacks
  • Endless Blood Moon
  • Turbulent Tombs
  • Gilnean War Horn

The following Quest Rewards are now easier to earn:

Minion Pool Changes

  • Transmuted Bramblewitch has been returned to the Minion Pool.

Bug Fixes and Game Improvements

  • [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where Harth’s iconic hand for Mage was not offered and the iconic hand for Shaman appeared twice as often as intended (classic Shudderwock).
  • [Battlegrounds] Removed Secret Culprit from the Ethereal Evidence pool.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug with Recurring Nightmare causing crashes.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where Open Auditions could cause lag or crashes.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where earning a Quest Reward as Sire Denathrius could cause combat to freeze.
  • [Battlegrounds] Toxic Tumbleweed now won’t get used up if you don’t have space to summon it at the start of combat.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where Golden Mad Matador would only trigger once per combat.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where Banana Slamma didn’t work with Tumbling Disaster.
  • [Battlegrounds] Fixed a visual bug where Staff of Enrichment didn’t function from the opponent’s perspective.
