Whizbang’s Workshop Mini-Set Announced, “Dr. Boom’s Incredible Inventions” Launches May 14

Yesterday, Blizzard posted a quite obvious teaser, so we already knew that the mini-set announcement is coming and that it has something to do with Dr. Boom. But now it has been officially announced!

Whizbang’s Workshop mini-set is called “Dr. Boom’s Incredible Inventions” and it launches a week from now, on May 14, 2024. It will add 38 new unique cards – 4x Legendary, 1x Epic, 17x Rare, and 16x Common. Just like always, the cards will become available in expansion packs (in this case Whizbang’s Workshop packs), but you will also be able to purchase the entire mini-set either for $15 or 2000 Gold or craft the cards individually. A full-Golden version (including a bonus Diamond Legendary) is also available for $70, or 10,000 Gold.

The mini-set introduces a new keyword called “Gigantify”. As you can probably guess, it’s the opposite of Miniaturize. Playing a card with Gigantify adds an 8 mana 8/8 copy of it to your hand.

Card reveals are starting today and will continue throughout the week. You can find all of them in a separate post.

Learn more about the mini-set from the official blog post below:

Dr. Boom’s been tinkering away in the basement of Whizbang’s Workshop, working on his own line of toys to prove that he is the greatest toymaker and inventor in Azeroth. He’s come up with something huge—gigantic, even—and he’s ready to share it with the world. Prepare to have your mind blown, these are Dr. Boom’s Incredible Inventions!

Dr. Boom’s Incredible Inventions, launching on May 14, consists of 38 new cards: 4 Legendary cards, 1 Epic card, 17 Rare cards, and 16 Common cards. Those cards can either be opened in Whizbang’s Workshop packs or purchased as a completed 72-card set.* Normal versions of the Mini-Set can be purchased for $14.99 or 2000 Gold. The all-Golden version of the Mini-Set can be purchased for $69.99 or 10,000 Gold, and includes a bonus Diamond Legendary card!

* Includes one copy of each Legendary card and two copies of each other card in the Mini-Set.
