Deck Import

Note: I posted a list similar to this one before, but that was before all the Scholomance Academy cards were revealed, so I decided to start over.

Aggro Druid, also known as Token Druid, is a hyper-aggressive deck that aims to swarm the board with tons of cheap minions, then pump them up with cards like Mark of the Lotus and Power of the Wild to deal tons of quick, early-game damage. The deck gained a lot of support from Scholomance Academy, so, seeing as this is one of my favorite decks, I had to theorycraft a list.

Strengths: The deck is super-fast, bursting out of the gates with minions and pump spells, and dealing tons of damage early on. It has the potential to win before any sort of “mid-game” (much less “late-game) can be established.

Weakness: As the deck’s main goal is to win as quickly as possible, the longer the game goes, the more likely it is to lose. Board wipes are also a major concern for this deck, as it aims to set up a very “go-wide” board.

As this is a theorycraft, I’d like to point out the card inclusions from the new expansion, as well as why I included them.

Lightning Bloom: Innervate is a very important card to the deck, as extra mana facilitates extremely powerful turn 1s (and turn 2s, to a lesser extent). In the same vein, Lightning Bloom seems to be excellent in this deck as well. While, yes, the 2 Mana Crystal Overload is a major drawback, if the Lightning Bloom turn builds a strong enough board, we hopefully won’t need to play anything on the following turn.

Adorable Infestation: Effectively, this is 2 Mana for 3/3 worth of stats (or 1 Mana for 2/2 worth of stats, if you don’t immediately play the Cub that gets added to your hand). It pumps a minion, summons a minion, and adds a cheap minion to your hand, which is basically everything the deck wants.

Gibberling: This is in the running, alongside Adorable Infestation, for the best card for this deck from Scholomance. With the amount of spells we run, 1 Gibberling can turn into 4 or 5 more, giving us a huge board from a lot less cards.

Voracious Reader: This is a strict upgrade on a card the deck used to run, Jeeves. Reader is 2 mana less, and her effect is one sided, meaning your opponent can’t draw cards off of her like they can with Jeeves. She also has only 1 less Health stat than Jeeves does.
