Introduction

This is a deck to beat The Lich King boss from the Icecrown, the adventure of the Knights of the Frozen Throne. As you probably know at his turn 1, the Lich King hit you with The Hunted that deals 2 damage per minion you have on your deck. We have 15 minions and you draw 4 cards after he plays that card so in the best case scenario (without Tracking in turn 1) you would be at 8 health. But doesn’t really matter because we would be at the offensive the whole time and it is perfect for playing two 0 cost 8/8 Molten Giants. This is a budget deck for the Lich King, with a winrate around 30%, that includes none legendary and only to 2 epics. But the games are really fast because game is over before the turn 7.

Strategies

You have 3 win conditions with this deck:

  1. Vicious Fledgling  going face fast to becoming a huge threat, your chooses are first wind-fury then can’t be targeted by spells and hero powers to protect him from Obliterate .
  2. Scavenging Hyena combine with a turn 1 Alleycat, and the classic hunter combo with Unleash the Hounds or others beast synergies.
  3. Turn 2 Molten Giant, remember on turn 3 if you find one with Stitched Tracker you can play it right away because the giant cost 0. So two minions in one turn, 10/10 on stats is a big tempo swing.

  • This is a win before turn 7 deck, or restart. Maybe you can beat the Frostmourne turn if you have a taunt and a good board but most of times it is over by your turn 7.
  • Remember that you would be extremely low on health so you will have to protect yourself sometimes, because even if you have a huge board  you are  about three or two hits from being killed.
  • His threats are Obliterate to your biggest minions or the taunt which is saving you from dead. So Liquid Membrane (Can’t be targeted by spells o hero powers) on Vicious Fledgling and on Scavenging Hyena with Crackling Razormaw is neccesary. Blizzard on turn 6 that is almost always game over for you. Finally a well place Anti-Magic Shellon several minions equal dead, so pay attention to not left to many minions alive.

Replacements

Molten Giant = the only epics of the deck. There are excellent here but if you don’t have them, you can replace them with 1x  extra Dire Frenzy and Candleshot. Then you will have 4 extra health for your fight against the Lich King. The deck is still viable with out them.

Eaglehorn Bow = a rare card which isn’t that necessary because your health is too low to kill minions with your face. Candleshot is the best replacement.

Good replacements = if you don’t have the cards, these are Multi-Shot, Houndmaster, the previously mention Candleshot and Dire Frenzy, Snipe, Wandering Monster,Bestial Wrath, Quick Shot and Snake Trap.

Without replacements = these cards are essential for the deck, Vicious Fledgling, Scavenging Hyena, Crackling Razormaw and I could add Alleycat to the list too.

Winrate %

You could beaten him three times in around half hour. 3/10 so 30% winrate against the Lich King for 1700 dust.
