I added 2 SARONITE chain gang (life savers) for extra turns and mana curve. I took out a MANA WYRM and BARON GEDDON. for the bad draw late game and BARON with fatigue killing me. I love way it plays, got me from 20 to 10 in 2 days playing it casually.

Im losing to alot of shit on the ladder but maybe its just decks in the lower ranks? Buff paladin kills me all the time… to much stuff to kill and with 0 freeze i just get overrun. Doubt people face that in the legend ranks.

Most likely no. At higher ranks this deck is better. To much aggro on low end

If you only play this deck and master it you can climb even at rank 25 to 10 or so.

You just have to play it.. i play at rank 20 highlander mage and lost many games.. but after playing my deck for 40 games straight i even smashed most of the aggro decks..

Give this deck a try for like 20 games.. 5 on unraked to get a feel and than you can play ladder

This deck can be played w/o pyros. A lot of people are actually playing control mage without pyros right now due to prevalence of priests in the ladder right now. Pyros gives you a lot of value in other match ups though. You could consider replacing it with other cards that give you a lot of value like Elise, or Dirty Rat which is in the same mana slot. You could also try stuff like Tar Creeper which is great against aggro decks and is also an elemental. Loot Hoarder is also good for extra draw and DK Jaina synergy.

I love the non-freeze control version mage here. I’ve been trying to play version of it myself because so many decks play anti-doomsayer tech that freezing the board doesn’t do much for mage with slower win conditions sometimes. Obviously freeze is great for decks like quest mage or old freeze mage that doesn’t need to win board control but this deck eventually want to control the board with water elementals. Problem with not running freeze though is that your heavy removals such as meteor and flamestrikes are high cost that it’s hard to gain the board tempo back when you have low life total (or when ice block went off) when your oponent keeps playing threats after threats each turn and threaten lethal.
