Mulligans

General Mulligans

Pretty simple. Generally you use Coldlights to draw into your combo piece, use Jade Blossom early for ramp, and then use your ping for more card draw / Removal, and to square up trades. It is perfectly advisable to just play living roots on turn one in most circumstances.

DO NOT play Jade Idol to boost your Golems. Save them for the Fandral/ Auctioneer combo.

Aggro Mulligans

Play living roots turn one, you can then use your hero power turn two to remove small minions, then Ramp turn 3.

You might get away with playing a Jade idol to stay alive in this match up because your opponent will be running out of charge minions/ pings after trading in the early game.

Midrange Mulligans

Similar to control, but you're less concerned about milling big threats. Ramp, fill your hand up and don't worry about putting lots of cards in your opponent's hand. Your Lotus Golems get pretty big pretty quick.

DO NOT play Jade Idol to boost your Golems. Save them for the Fandral/ Auctioneer combo.

Combo Mulligans

Combo piece decks generally like to hold cards in hand. This is another good matchup to attempt milling your opponent. It's the easiest way to deal with their combo pieces.

Control Mulligans

Control decks tend to like to hold on to removal and build up their hand size where they can. Armour up and heal allow them to stay in the game. Get rid of higher value cards they're trying to draw into using an innervate Brann Coldlight Naturalize combo early in the game. Any time they have 6 cards or more in their hand is a good time to burn a bunch of their assets. After Brann and the Coldlight take their hand up to 10 the naturalize will: potentially get rid of one of your opponents high threat minions on the board, burn 2 cards, then a third when they draw the next turn. They then potentially use up more valuable removal on Brann (which you definitely don't wan't used on Fandral in the mid game.

You can follow that play with Thaurissan, marking down all the cards you just drew.

BASICS

This deck aims to bring together some of the principles other versions of the Jade druid decks are struggling with.
It combines both the card engine of older mill druid decks using Brann Bronzebeard and Coldlight Oracle to fill your hand. The coldlights are also decent early game draw to help you get into your pings.

Brann also synergizes with the Jade Behemoth, Jade Spirit, and Aya Blackpaw in the late game, particularly after a turn of being marked down by Emperor Thaurissan.

Against most decks you’re going to want to mulligan for:
Living RootsColdlight Oracle, Jade Blossom, Innervate, or Emperor Thaurissan.

Generally you want to try to keep Naturalize for your opponent’s big threats, and liberally trade into your opponent’s minions as you will be putting a fair few minions out on the board.

Please try this decklist out, and let me know what you think in the comments.  Particularly if you find success with the faster pace compared to the other Idol decks.

Stuff your hand using Brann oracle, or just by using your ample other draw with wrath/Thalnos/Azure Drake, and then drop Thaurisan with 1x Auctioneer, Fandral, Mark of the Lotus, Innervate, and Jade Idol  in hand. If you can follow that with a behemoth or the curator.

Your opponent’s reaction will likely be to push removal into Thaurissan, and then (hopefully) they can’t remove the taunt you play the turn after. You can then throw Auctioneer, Fandral, Jade Idol, Innervate combo behind your taunt, use the extra innervate mana for any Jade Idol’s you draw from the Auctioneer, and finally close with a global buff with mark of the Lotus.
