Mulligans

Aggro Mulligans

Strong board clear removal along with board presence for trades guarantees survival.

Remember, Shadowform keeps the board on Lock Down so it's always welcome.

Midrange Mulligans

No one likes Knife Jugglers and Darnassus Aspirant, right? Denying them from your oppenent while keeping board presence easily guarantees survival.

Remember, Shadowform keeps the board on Lock Down so it's always welcome.

Control Mulligans

Getting rid of the enemies 4 and 6 strong drops never lets you fall behind.

Experimental: This deck is a work in progress. Refinement may be necessary.

Keep in mind this is the first time attempting to make a “Shadow Priest“. Any kind of feedback for the overall improvement of this deck is very much appreciated.

Playstyle:

The deck doesn’t need more cards that are good when it has Shadowform – it needs cards that are good when it doesn’t.

When you don’t have Shadowform in play all you want to do is survive. Mulligan for your Zombie Chow and Shadow Word: Pain for the early threats and don’t be afraid to play Sunfury Protector by itself to challenge other minions your opponent might have. The more cards you draw while you don’t have Shadowform, the better.

After you get Shadowform or if you get it early try removing any annoying threats and control the board with your hero power and your other removal and never be afraid to get too low early. Your Molten Giants, taunted up or not, will always have your back. There are more than enough heals to get you back to 30HP in no time.

The late game is your strong point. Surviving the early game succesfuly in most cases means you won the game. Just try not to draw TOO much against control match-ups or you’ll have a bad time in Fatigue. Saving your Tournament Medic for those cases though might back-up that mistake.

Remember you can use your hero power ( Mind Spike ) and then play your second Shadowform to use your new hero power ( Mind Shatter ) again.

If Pianta is Molten Giant I would suggest either replacing 1 Lightbomb for a second Entomb or just play the cards in the correct order.

Thoughts on adding a kodorider to the deck.

Kodorider is a great winning condition, can’t go back on that. But the Molten Giants are the winning condition here, that can be played a bit sooner in most cases and will only have the privilege of having as much as 2 like the Kodorider in most cases.

You can always take a Shrinkmeister out for a Kodorider if you feel that it’s useless, but then your combo of Cabal or SW: Pain is removed.

I haven’t tested a Kodorider here, but feel free tweeking it to you likings! 🙂

Well the deck was mainly built around the current aggro meta on the ladder anyway. Now if you’re looking for specific counter cards for the current meta consider any changes such as:

          -Shrinkmeister, +Mind Control Tech

          For Secret Paladins, or:

          -Museum Curator x2, +Unstable Ghoul x2

Again for any Muster for Battles or to keep the board in range for your turn 5 removals.

If your plan is to use your hero power a lot, why not replace molten with frost giant? This would allow your tactic to be stall first and burn later, as the rest of your complements this a bit more…

Frost Giants only work if your starting mulligan has Shadowform 100% in it or else you’ll be looking for cards to survive rather than using your hero power.

Shadow Priest decks along with Hobgoblin decks are supposed to be as good as when your key card is not drawn ( Shadowform in this case ). Since you only use your hero power a lot only when Shadowform is in play Frost Giants become an extremely slow card.

With all this aggro dominating the ladder you’ll find yourself lower than you’d expect on turn 4 or 5 and by that point you could have an 8/8 body on the board ready to be taunted up. 🙂

For further information check the notes, I updated since the deck went 15-5.
