Deck Import

Hey  guys, I’m back (after an insanely long time) with another deck guide. My first 3 decks are hilarious to me now, as I see how bad my deck building skill was back then. However, this time I am bringing you all a deck that brought me from rank 19 in wild ladder, to rank 4 in the wild ladder in a single month! Forget my rank 20 standard, wild is where it’s at! Malygos Shaman is a deck that’s a ton of fun, and it’s actually a really viable deck. (People never see it coming!) Here is my list, I have revised it and this is my final, most successful version of the deck. I will update this guide as new cards are released or if I have improved the deck. I don’t see any Witchwood cards that would replace anything… yet! GAMEPLAY: Unlike tempo mage, or cubelock, maly shaman is actually a fun deck to play. Basically, you play a control/draw type shaman until you can ancestor’s call out a maly, barnes out a maly, or just strait up burst them with a spell damage totem! (Mostly against warlock!) As far as match ups go, I’ll give each matchup a scale of 1-10 where 1 is hard, and 10 is insanely easy.

Cube/Control Warlock: 9. Really hard to lose this. Half the time I don’t even need maly! The only way you can lose is if you ancestor’s call out a malgantis and you don’t have lethal because you have to kill malgantis first. I have went 13-2 against Cube Warlocks.

Dude/Aggro Paladin: 8. Pretty easy… MULL VERY AGGRESSIVELY! You need all of the AoE and Healing you can get! Never mull maly, but this is the match up where you do mull ancestor’s call, when you don’t have maly of course! I believe I’m 11-2 vs. them.

Tempo Mage: 5. Aaahh tempo mage. I really hate going up against mages. If they run ice block, pop it really low. Also, always assume all mages are tempo because mostly they are. Mull for devolves and heal. Cry if they get Aluneth on 6. (They always seem to do :l). COUNT THE COUNTERSPELLS. You MUST play around the counterspells. It’s great if the coin can foil one, and you won’t get overloaded for an overload spell getting countered.

Jade Druid 1. Almost impossible with all of the armor they get. Burst them down early or you’ll never get to it. (Which I have not have) :(. Really hard match-up, I’m 0-5 against them…

Any priest: 9. Like warlock, slow match-ups that don’t go over 30-40 health are GREAT! Real hard to lose against big, but mull for hex vs. priest. 8-0 vs. them.

General Tips & Tricks: I don’t care what you say, but NEVER MULL MALY! NEVER! He will never hurt you! Maly is what makes your deck strong. Also, count before you shoot. What I’m saying, is always count your damage and mana before you throw everything at him. Most of the time you’re fine, but sometimes there’s that mana crystal that you didn’t know was overloaded.

Overall, Maly shammy is a ton of fun and I highly recommend it for getting those sweet ladder wins. As the match-up section suggests, it’s a pretty viable option. Thanks for reading! As maly shaman evolves, I will add match-ups to the guide and add anything I feel necessary! Thanks a lot for reading (again), and I hope to see you on the ladder!

(Btw: In my hundreds of wild ladder games recently, I’ve seen only 1 warrior! RIP!)
