Mulligans

Aggro Mulligans

THE MULLIGAN STRATEGY:

AGAINST AGGRO:

You're looking to mulligan for either quick ramp (Overgrowth, Lightning Bloom and or a defense wall (Germination, Mor'shan Watch Post)

Dropping Mor'shan's on turn three followed with Germination on turn four will likely stop most hunters in their tracks but will also help against other aggro decks that go for full boards. Idly you'd want to mulligan for both Mor'shan's and Germination if possible since it will give you the most time.

Control Mulligans

Against control you may just want to mulligan for ramp and drop Celestial Alignment and Primordial Protector as quick as possible so you can draw survival of the fittest and have the most value for your cards. Rather then  Germination on Mor'shan here if you have the opportunity a germination on twilight runner after summoned via Guardian Animals would give you the necessary card draw to maintain pressure against control decks who may ultimately run you dry. Also a combination of Solar Eclipse and Survival of the fittest would give you even greater value as well.

Exploring the community of Druid decks I found many who were trying to implement the use of Celestial Alignment, some of them pairing it with Guardian Animals to make all beast cards summonable (etc. Druid of the Plains). I was looking at two ways of implementing CA (celestial alignment) to work effectively in Standard play.

1. Cthun Druid (my other guide)

2. Nzoth Druid

This following guide captures the potential of Nzoth Druid and Brewmaster combos that would allow either multiple Nzoth or Alexstrasza uses. CA opens up the potential of combo decks which have for the longest time been a staple of the Druid Malygos combination. This deck focuses on the Nzoth drop followed with a Alexstrasza finish if necessary but also buffs the decks minions to give them more value not to mention Primordial Protector ability to retrieve the 10 mana Survival of the Fittest to give the decks minions their utmost value.

In this deck an ideal Nzoth drop would give us:

Which would be a fairly difficult board to deal with, without having the removal not to mention being able to: Youthful Brewmaster the N'Zoth, God of the Deep back into play. In this deck combination Youthful Brewmaster has the options of playing either N'Zoth, God of the Deep or Alexstrasza the Life-Binder for 16 damage.

CARD ADDITIONS:

1. A second Clockwork Giant

2. It’s possible to perhaps add Cthun into this mix but due to the lack of draw outside of (Twilight Runner Guardian Animals Nourish Malygos the Spellweaver) it may make facing aggro decks much harder then it already is due to all the situational cards (Youthful Brewmaster Germination
