Backstory

This deck is one I homebrewed after seeing that Shaman has been in the dumpster for quite a while. It relies on Boggspine Knuckles as the main attraction in this deck and is the reason why it works so successfully. Being able to keep churning out constant and bigger threats makes slower classes like Paladin and Druid struggle heavily. The pirate package of Hoard Pillager and Dread Corsair is important because as long as you keep Knuckles up, you keep winning. Dread Corsair is an odd pick but a very good one since it allows you to cheat out a free 5-Drop when combined with a knuckles turn.

The crowning Evolve target of course is Desert Hare which gained infamy during Doom in the Tomb. It’s not uncommon to play Knuckles of 5 and then Desert Hare to create a very threatening board. The introduction of Lorekeeper Polkelt allows this deck to swing away and then refill with the pillagers in the late game.

Match Ups

The main deck this deals with ease is Libram Paladin and its variants, Highlander Hunter.
It has favorable match ups with Cyclone Mage, Aggro/Miracle Rogue, Galakrond Priest.
The match ups this deck struggles with are Face Hunter and Soul Demon Hunter.

Mulligan Guide

The go-to Mulligan for this deck is to dig for Boggspine Knuckles and Lorekeeper Polkelt. You can keep your 1-Drops such as Tour Guide and Surging Tempest. You shouldn’t leave the board empty in an aggressive meta such as this one. These 1-Drops also open up the door to Explosive Evolution to start getting ahead on board. I would recommend keeping Animated Broomstick against Hunter since they enjoy getting on board early and viciously.

If you are experiencing many Hunters and Stealth Rogues, then swap out Totemic Reflection for a Sandstorm Elemental.

Hopefully you find this deck as entertaining as I did and happy laddering.
