Look for Shadow Word Death against Shaman for that early 7/7, else stick with Pain.Dragon for synergy is ideal (I prefer Azure drake since it fits in and it gives you a draw, but Guardian is also good)

** Deathwing not in the deck but hey you clicked it **

With One night in Karazhan released comes new cards and all sorts of potential, unless you’re Priest then you only get one decent card with no support.

Dragon priest has been my favorite deck to play for the last 2 years almost, and I think that the inclusion of Netherspite (how you get deathwing!) and Book Wyrm really help it out. Despite all that, Dragon priest is still a bit too inconsistent to climb to legend without a very lucky run. That being said, I still love this kind of deck and it feels REALLY good when it works.

Basic strategy:

  • Play your minions on-curve using their battlecry to get max value out of each card you play
  • Hide behind High-health taunts and minions boosted with PW: Shield.
  • Control board with answers like Entomb, Esc Evil, and Shadow-Word.
  • Use Netherspite Historian to discover lategame/midgame, depending on what you need at the time. This gives the deck a good amount of versatility and is a good catch-up mechanic, especially when combo’d with Brann. Play Brann with either Corruptor, Azure Drake, or Netherspite.

This deck plays like a pretty typical Dragon Priest from past seasons after WotOG. Play on-curve, answer the minions on board with spells or trades, then heal up your damage minions.

This deck can actually run more early-game oriented cards and drop Ysera and Nef since Netherspite can discover them, but I like having a bit of lategame in the event I don’t draw netherspite in a heavy control matchup.

I’ve only hit rank 10 with this so far, with the climb this season as the deck struggles against Tempo Mage and Midrange Shaman. The deck is pretty tricky to run since I prefer a more control-oriented style of play. I run 1 Shadow Madness because there’s plenty of 3-attack targets for it to borrow.

Discussion below for card swaps. This is a more mid-lategame oriented list. If I wanted earlier board presence, I’d include another Blackwing Tech for the Chillmaw.
