Mulligans

General Mulligans

In general you should mulligan to get to the mid and late game. While it may seem like there aren't that many cards you're looking for, even having one of these will help greatly.

If your mulligan is a complete miss, you can always use your hero power to stall, since you've got enough heal and board wipes to come back from behind.

Aggro Mulligans

Doomsayer, Hydrologist and Tar Creeper do a good job of keeping early control. The only thing you need after that are ways to clear a board after it's flooded. You should be able to survive until turn 6 by clearing the board with consecration on 4 or Pyromancer + Consecration on turn 6. After this you will probably have some form of heal or taunt in your hand. You just take it all the way from there.

Midrange Mulligans

Since the midrange decks tend to be more agressively oriented the same principles that apply to aggro go for midrange.

Combo Mulligans

Combo decks these days need a board to pull of their combo. Equality and Wild Pyromancer are great ways to make sure they never have that board. Stonehill Defender is just a great value card in a slower match.

Control Mulligans

The only thing against control matches you're looking for is value. The best way to get this early in the game is Stonehill Defender. Just pick a minion that gets you a lot of value and out-control the game.

I was playing with a standard midrange murloc paladin list for a couple of days, got close to legend, but the I dropped back down to rank 4. At this point I was facing a lot of burn mages who’d just play Alexstrasza and kill me with their burn unless I was lucky enough to get a good Ragnaros, Lightlord. So I decided to build a deck to counter these mages and it turns out that it works well against other decks currently in the meta as well like Pirate Warrior and Token Druid. Midrange match-ups are a bit weaker though.

This decklist got me from rank 4 to legend. It’s a bit slower than most decks out there, but with a winrate of 62% (36 wins, 22 losses) it’s worth playing.
