I’m lacking so much card draw with this deck. What should I replace for a Nourish? Any recommendations? Thanks!

You can replace arcane giant. In my experience arcane gaint isn’t as busted in this deck as others.

How do you play this? 🙂 Do you ramp and then play stuff? Do you just put stuff on the board like with normal c’thun druid? Really nice list btw, how did you come up with the idea?

First, thank you for the awesome list! Crushing every Warrior and Hunter in sight is incredibly satisfying.

Alas, I’m running into major issues with the Druid matchup; specifically Maly-Yogg. The game seems to be essentially over the instant they Nourish, I haven’t managed to win even a single Druid v. Druid so far. Any thoughts or advice for handling Maly-Yogg, seeing as it’s the top deck in the game right now?

This deck is really great against Shaman and I just love the double resource of C’Thun and Yogg.

Does it work with Brann instead of Sylvanas ?

I havn’t tried brann yet but it definately crossed my mind. id play twin emps if i did for sure, not only would it let u get to 10 attack cthun quickly with the buffs but also triple 4/6 taunt with emperor is amazing.

I took out: -Mulch, -Sylvanis, and -2 Drakes.
added: +1 Arcane Giant, +2 Feral Rage, +1 Nourish..
    Thoughts on this?

just wanted to say, great deck!
it feels natural to play (I’ve always liked C’thun Druid). I had quickly added the Drakes back in as that was a mistake on my part to take them out.

I have made some changes I feel good with now.
Namely I’m not running Mulch or Sylvanis (although I have considered running her); instead I’m running a single copy of Nourish and Feral Rage (this has been very utilitarian (evening pushing the last 4 for lethal against Maly-Druid) -Playing FR as removal, face, or sometimes, armor… have even combo’d with Fandral a couple times.

I’m not a fan of mulch, I’ve been given great cards by an opponent or opp Yogg that played mulch against me and giving me things like Brann… Brann! of all things to give me “Thanks!”

the deck can sometimes get off and not be as consistent and I feel the copy of Nourish helps to give that option of additional draw and/or Ramp.. and right when you need it.

Imo Mulch is almost a “must have” card in any Druid deck (well maybe not in Beast-) as a one of.
Sylvanas again is probably the best card in the game and belongs almost in any midrange/ctrl deck, including this. You can also steal opponents Sylvanas/Tirion etc. by Mulching your own Sylvanas, making N’Zoth matcups alot easier.
Drakes on the other hand are really good if you are running 2x Living Roots. Also they are this decks only card draw (excluding Yogg) if you are not running Nourish, which this deck isn’t.
Moonglade Portals pretty much serve their jobs as Feral Rages, altho you can’t kill those pesky Frothings with it, but there isn’t that much Dragon Warriors anyway in ladder so I wouldn’t worry about that.

If you really want to make changes I would say – Living Roots/Azure + Nourish, but that’s it. I’m pretty sure Brad has figured out his deck tho 😉

I was playing without mulch for a decent amount. In fact I got top 2 with a list much different than this one which was running 0 mulches and 2 nourish, aswell as 2 arcane golems and no moonglade portals so that proves theres definitely more than 1 way to run the deck; either more card draw, and more situational cards like double arcane giant and twin emps, or a less cycle version as the one u see here without the cards that require more synergy. I think this version is better vs aggro decks in general, but feral rage also helps a good amount in those matchups aswell. Personally if u were going to play feral rage, i would only play 1 because this deck has more taunts which make the healing from feral rages less relevant because taunts are basically heal cards aswell; I wouldn’t be against cutting a moonglade portal for 1, but just 1. The reason I’m playing moonglade portal over them, as i mentioned before, there are a lot of huge taunts in the deck and getting a solid heal on one of them can instantly be game winning, which feral rage can’t accomplish. Another reason I decided to put in 2 moonglades was because I cut one of the arcane giants and I felt the double random 6 drops gave the deck just enough umph to beat decks like control warrior.

I would not cut Drakes in this deck, even if I was going to add nourish, they synergize well with the deck and are generally better vs aggro decks, although not great, than nourish; although you can cheese a win with fandral nourish every once in a while. This rarely happens vs aggro though, and the control matchups u usually win anyways even if u dont cheese like this.

Didn’t proofread this at all so i hope it makes sense lol

Ugh, I just replied with a 3 paragraph response but it didn’t post… So, I’m typing this but gonna keep it short and simple.

I got top 3 legend with a list without mulch, so you can run it both ways but you run the risk of losing on to the spot with a naked malygos or something which can be annoying, so I prefer it.

I would not cut drake, too much synergy.

Sylvanas has been really good, and with the inclusion of 2 mire keeper, i feel its really important to hit the 6 drop.

2 Arcane Giant is pretty bad vs aggro, aswell as the nourish. In the list I got top 3 without mulch, it played 2 nourish and 2 arcane giants, so its definitely a solid list as well, personal preference I guess.

I wouldn’t play 2 feral rage, i would play 1 at most. A card that I would cut for it is prob 1 moonglade portal. The reason I played 2 moonglade portal to begin with was because I cut 1 of the arcane golems and the double random 6 drop seemed to give the deck just enough umph to win vs decks like control warrior. Also, if you get a solid heal on one of ur big taunts, it can be game winning unlike feral rage, not generally a game winning card other than the heal which moonglade can accomplish aswell.

        Hi,

Can I ask at what rank you started using the deck ?

        Thanks

After I got legend with cthun warrior, I played cthun druid the first game of legend until i got to #3… which was around rank 250 or so

understood. thanks for the response and details Brad!

To make clear, the only changes I’ve made after the first time playing this deck was to add in a copy of Nourish and Feral Rage,(realizing that Azure is missing and needed) having omitted mulch and sylvanis.

After reading your responses I think I’ll add Sylvanas in. I’m thinking I may take one Portal out to add in sylvanas?

Nourish has just been so good in this deck for the card draw. though I can see and agree two is a bit much of both feral rage and nourish (of which I have no intentions of adding more than one copy).

Feral Rage has come in handy to remove flame waker on the spot, toto golem, etc.

        what would be your suggestion?
        1 portal, 1 feral, 1, Nourish, 1 Sylvanis?
or just a one for one sub, take the mulch out and add in ether a Feral or a nourish?

I play Aviana, Brann and C-thun combo.

      September 22, 2016 at 7:52 am

Hope you’re playing Emperor too. That combo also requires more C’Thun buffing cards imo, which makes it less interesting to play and weaker, since you would have to run those River Crocolisks and Spider Tanks too.

I had twin emperors in the original list but i was running 2 nourishes aswell.. without the card draw i dont think the twin emps are consistent enough as well as the moonglade portals being much better on 5/10 taunts rather than 2 4/6 taunts

This is definetly something. Going 3-0 now against Murloc Pala, CTRL War and Midrange Sham. Although the sample is small, I really like the deck and think it will handle aggro just as well as any other Midrange Druid with 2x Swipe, 2x Arakkoa and 2x Ancient.

I have one question tho: Why no Twin Emperor over Ancient of War or maybe even second Mire Keeper/Moonglade Portal? Is it just so inconsistent with only 4 C’Thun buffing cards? Then again when I’m thinking – You really want that Wild Growth (+Mire Keeper) in your starting hand, witch makes curving out to Twin Emperor really akward since you would have to play that Disciple of C’Thun at some point before turn 7.

Heh – I kinda answered my own guestion, but do you have any other thoughts on that?

Swapping one Ancient for Twin Emperor?

    • Evident - Author
      September 21, 2016 at 7:31 am

That might work, but the deck doesn’t have a lot of c’thun buff cards so Ancient is better on curve.
