Deck Import

Aggro Shaman seems to be the new aggro deck of choice, and has largely replaced Face Hunter on the ladder. The deck just has tons of burn, low cost minions, and can burst the opponent out with Doomhammer and Rockbiter Weapon. The deck more recently has added in Ancestral Knowledge to bail you out if your first wave of minions gets destroyed. Sir Finley Mrrgglton can be very valuable. Switching to Life Tap or Steady Shot can be very devastating for your opponent.

Aggro Shaman Deck List Update – April 2016 (Season 25)

I’m finding a lot more Whirling Zap-o-matic than Knife Juggler in most Aggro Shaman deck lists. Flame Juggler is also a popular replacement for these cards.

Aggro Shaman Mulligan Guide and Strategy

Leper Gnome, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, and Tunnel Trogg are your main targets. Feral Spirit is also great for protecting your low health minions and allows them to get in for more damage. Totem Golem is also a great keep, this is especially the case when you already have a 1-drop in hand. Lightning Bolt or Rockbiter Weapon are good against other aggressive decks.

If you’re on the coin, Totem Golem can be played and then followed up with a 1-drop which avoids losing any tempo due to the Overload. You can then potentially follow it up with Feral Spirit which is a tough board to deal with.

Aggro Shaman Tech Cards

Flame Juggler sometimes replaces Knife Juggler or Whirling Zap-o-matic because of its ability to more consistently deal extra damage.

Aggro Shaman Card Substitutions (Replacements)

Keep in mind that replacements for cards are rarely ever going to be perfect. It’s usually easiest to try and come close to what the card accomplishes, or double up an already existing card in the deck.

  • Doomhammer: You really don’t want to replace this, it’s a very important finisher in the deck. You could potentially live without one of them, and replace it with something like Leeroy Jenkins or Wolfrider.

Aggro Shaman Combos and Synergies

Doomhammer and Rockbiter Weapon can combine for ten damage, and double Rockbiter is 16 damage!

Lava Shock works well in this deck as there is a lot of Overload. If you have two or more of your Mana Crystals locked and play Lava Shock, you’ve essentially played it for free or have gained mana. It also clears up future Overload, but you don’t gain any mana additional mana for the turn.

If you don’t get Life Tap or Steady Shot from Sir Finley Mrrgglton, then consider taking the Druid Hero Power Shapeshift. It buffs your Doomhammer by giving it an extra plus one attack for that turn!

Any sufficient replacement for Zap-o-matic? I feel like all the card does is pressure, and it usually doesn’t live through the first turn to deal 6 damage :/

      Flame Juggler or Knife Juggler.

I use elemental destruction in place of it, I find it helps with surviving that extra turn for lethal

Is there any capable replacement for Sir Finley?

I have played this deck so much my head spins. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DOOMHAMMER AND TUNNEL TROGGS. There just isnt. IF you dont have the epansion then dont use this deck. Tunnel trogg is so crucial. Doomhammer is just insane. Its your finisher. Point Black. I personally never like Leper gnome seeing as its essetially 2-3 dmg vs top tier decks like Midrange druid secret pally. Its only useful vs Zoo (when they dont Void walker) and face hunter. I dropped them for 1 hex 1 fire elemental
I dont know why you neglect fire elemental. Its a body they must deal with late game because theyre near death AND its 3 dmg. If i had room i would run 2.
also i run no owl instead of ES because i prefer to have a body for my FT totem (which i use in replace of 1 warhorse)

So i had the Day now where i just wanted to have fun on HearthStone while 95% just trys to be me and play aggro decks. Like whuut?
Ok for some of you there is this fun when you win but its the sad des thing you could come up with and might be the only. So Start playing more “fair” and gamestanding decks than this 🙂

I meant ‘mean’ not ‘me’ sorry.

The only “fairness” is already imposed by the game. You shouldn’t play by your own made up ruleset and expect others to follow. If you like control, think of a control deck that counters this shaman deck, since I seem to see it almost every other game.

So there IS a deck in Hearthstone that doesn’t have Doctor Boom.

    What is this nonsense!

Plese, do something with shaman. No sense and Other face hunter. I would love to see competitive decks running Ala Kir, elementals and of course, totems. A class has to be based in some point in his hero power. I am not one of that guys who hate any aggro deck, I don’t mind face hunter. Cause a face hunter does what a hunter has to do. But a shaman should do Other things. In fact i dont know what shamans do. That is the problem. The others clases has some “personality” Relationed with hero power. Maybe not druid, but has ramp cards, that matches with his forest and grow style. Shaman is the missed class of hearstone. The idea of overload isn’t bad, but right know only helps aggro. Plese do something to save shaman.

I found that Unbound Elemental is much more potent than Argent Horserider in this deck, a 3 mana 2/4 that buffs whenever an overload card (lots of those) are played it’s very consistent with the flow of the deck and can be hard for opponents to handle without removal like fireball

it’s too slow for an aggro deck like this and a bad topdeck.

I’ve added bloodlust instead of a second windhammer and it has won some games for me. Bloodlust + rockbiter and three minions works great and at is helpful when I don’t have a doomhammer drawn. Bloodlust + rockbiter and a windfury minion works even better.

Hey what do u think about leeroy in this deck?

    • Evident - Author
      February 15, 2016 at 10:18 am

It could work, but you already have a lot of spells that do what he does in the deck already.

I was having trouble getting off with this deck, i think it is too dependant of the first draw. I tried to make a few changes, http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/overload-aggro-shaman/ but I`m still losing more than winning.

    Any thoughts ?

use this “AGGRO SHAMAN DECK LIST – JANUARY 2016 (SEASON 22)” and replace the 2 knife junglers with 2 lighting storms

Why no Leeroy instead of Wolfrider or Argent Horserider?

    • John Cena
      March 5, 2016 at 2:51 pm

I have Leeroy in my deck and he works pretty well. But mainly I put Leeroy in most of my decks because he is extremely fun to use.

Hello! Is there any replacement for Tunnel Trogg!? Thanks!

    • Evident - Author
      January 6, 2016 at 3:59 pm

There isn’t really, but you can try a second Abusive Sergeant and Knife Juggler. I imagine this deck will not perform very well without them though.

    • fawwaz
      January 11, 2016 at 3:26 pm

Yea this deck literally became a thing because of tunnel trogg, so I’m gonna say there’s no replacement.

Is there a replacement for lava shock as I have everything else but cannot afford the expansion right now? THANKS for the deck by the way, its awesome!

I’d just go second Wolfrider and Abusive Sergeant.

You don’t think having couple of ‘unbound elementals’ is a good idea?

Might be a bit too slow, but they are worth trying.

I wonder about Fel Reaver instead of second doomhammer.
Works in aggro druid, same mana cost but no overload.

    • Jokergear09
      January 20, 2016 at 10:21 am

You’ll lose a lot of potential burn spell from the fel reaver mill effect and without them you will automatically lose if you don’t already have lethal. I wouldn’t play that.

Secret Paladin and Freeze mage always win vs this deck

    • Juscallmenik
      January 4, 2016 at 1:33 pm

Secret Paladin is actually quite weak against this deck. They can’t kill the trogg on turn 1. They can’t deal with a 3/4 efficiently. They have no way to deal with 2 2/3’s. If you curve out well the Secret Paladin is dead before he ever gets a chance to christmas tree. It’s hard to beat any top tier deck if you don’t curve well.

With secret pally you have to remember you’re helping them when you trade because of Avenge. So don’t you don’t have time to fight for the board anyway. Get as much damage as you can the first few turns with your minions. After that it’s all Burn and Doomhammer.

What a replace for Sir Finley Mrglton?
And can i get a legend with this deck?

    • Evident - Author
      December 26, 2015 at 8:55 am

Second Knife Juggler or Wolfrider. Yes, you can get legend with this deck.

    • Juscallmenik
      January 4, 2016 at 1:29 pm

You can get to legend with a lot of decks. It depends on how much you play and how good you are with the deck. It’s kind of an open ended question.

But yes I’m sure a lot of people HAVE got to legend with this deck. They probably tweak it a bit as they go. I added Elemental destruction for example cause you often lose the board and can’t win without clearing it.

Is there any replacement for second Doomhammer?

    • Evident - Author
      December 24, 2015 at 9:29 am

      Second Wolfrider.

    • Juscallmenik
      January 4, 2016 at 1:28 pm

No you have to craft it. 2 Doomhammers is critical for this deck. I wouldn’t replace it with anything. Your win % would fall dramatically in my opinion.

this deck is pretty potent and more fun to play than face hunter imo.

thinking about subbing in a lightning storm incase my opponent gets off to a face start. those mech decks can get out of hand in a hurry..
