IMO this card has a terrible and uninteractive design that will hit many other Standard and Wild decks. They could try a different approach like:

“Battlecry: Destroy all cards in both hands and decks that aren’t in their respective decks at the start of the game.”

So everyone would have a good counter that requires timing for both players against any quest deck and a hard counter to Jade Druid, but not a auto-win (the Jade player still have his original Jade Idols and Earthen Scales). This could even increase the skillcap of timing a good Kazakus, Primordial Glyph, Elise, Stonehill Defender

In fact, i think this card is so ridiculous that wold be better not ever being made and Blizz just make a nerf to Jade Idol, something like “put two copies of this card on your deck” or Auctioneer on Hall of Fame and hit it’s consistency.

5 stars because now we have to re-invent the meta, that’s awesome for a refresh.
I know many people don’t like it, but keep in mind that we need to explore other cards and archetypes. In the last tournaments we have seen the same decks and matches, which is kind of bad and boring for some spectators (like me).

This card doesn’t need a body. 6 Mana: win against Jade Druid is a spell I would run 1 of already as a control deck

This card is a killer to a lot of miracle decks and just absolutely destroys Jade Druid if they can’t get jades going fast enough. This is the biggest hate card I’ve ever seen, Golakka Crawler hardly compares to how hateful this card is to Jade Druid.

Obviously an answer to Jade Druid, but screws too many other decks. Not good for the game.

This card should not exist. Ruins too many decks that rely on one cost spells. No more power word shield/binding heal or inner for priests…???? What are they thinking? Rogue losing razor petals, hallucinations/cold blood???? Evolve?? Wtf? I understand Jade druid, but earthen scales too?? Come on blizz.

I really can’t understand all the anger against Jade Druid..
If course he can be endless “cancer” in late game. But be honest, how many have you came across?
Last two seasons I played max 10 times against Jade. Though I never play further than Rank 5, maybe that’s the point?

It’s a really interesting mechanic, especially as an epic, but I’m pretty sure this card will be the main reason for Auto-Concede in Ranked for the next weeks.

      August 4, 2017 at 3:51 am

That’s because aggro decks have the highest win-rate against Jade Druid, and the meta has been fast ever since Jade mechanics were added. If the meta is to get any slower at all or Druid gets some major answers to aggro, like it is getting this expansion, Jade Druid just crushes almost every single other deck. People freak out about Jade Druid because it has the potential to be a completely unstoppable powerhouse that wins against every single deck, with the exception of Exodia Mage.

    • RinMathews
      August 4, 2017 at 6:11 am

Control decks aren’t being played because they auto lose to Jade Druid. If they got rid of Gadetzan Auctioneer or Jade idol then the game would be a lot more deck creation space for everyone else.

  13. Tyramir
    August 3, 2017 at 6:59 pm

Okay, even though I hate Jade Druid, I have to say…. I hate this card even more. Mill and deck destruction is NOT the way to go, and I’m upset that Blizzard is choosing to go this route, since I feel these mechanics are not only not fun, they are extremely tilting and ruin the experience. Others may disagree. I hope they appreciate the auto-concede I’ll give them when I see them. If mill somehow becomes a top tier deck on ladder, I suspect I may have to retire from HS entirely, or stick to Casual until it goes away, because no other mechanic, not even Cancer Rogue, angers me more.

Throwback to when kripp jokingly showcased a card that would destroy all jade golem cards in the opponent’s deck.
If this control meta is on the rise, this WILL be a must run for 1 copy in every deck for like a month until the dust settles.

    • Dav
      August 3, 2017 at 12:37 pm

Of course not dude. Think about it, your 2 cost spells are not discounted until they enter your hand. What you’re thinking of is just too outlandish and problematic for the game.

    • Dav

    • CarnivoreApple
      August 3, 2017 at 10:56 am

Rip paladin secrets and quest paladin (cheap buffs made it more viable than it was)
Rip inner fire priest (also power word shield, potion of madness)
Rip shield slam, whirlwind (luckily execute is 2 mana)
Mana wyrm shenanigans will remain possible i think because this is 6 mana

  29. Xix
    August 3, 2017 at 8:48 am

So, when the new meta starts every control deck will run atleast 1 copy of this, until jade druid becomes a rare oponent, than this card will be cut, and more jade druids will start to appear and well eventualy a balance will be found i guess?

Anyway this seems like a much harder counter to jade druid than Gollaka crawler was ever to pirates. Allso innerfire/silence priest will get hit by this pretty hard. Not to mention Lyra combo priests, all the cheap spells will be gone… XD

Anyway i kind of like it that their now is a solid answer to jade druids, but it’s kind of late. Allso how are the control decks gonna defend against Quest mage? 😮 Need some tech cards against that aswell! XD XD

    • Kenchilada
      August 3, 2017 at 9:23 am

Eater of Secrets is pretty bad, but it allows for lethal most of the time. Maybe when that rotates out next year we’ll get a better version, like Kezan Mystic.

  30. Whiplash
    August 3, 2017 at 8:34 am

Too bad Ranked isn’t best-of-three matches with sideboard before games 2 and 3.
Then tech cards like this would make a lot more sense.

  31. Brann
    August 3, 2017 at 8:23 am

Finally a cards your can put into your deck to fuck Jade druids

    We needed this in Ugoro

If we didn’t get this considering druids just got infestation, Jade druids would (still prob) will be all over the meta as a tier 1deck

Considering Blizz is trying to slow down the meta this is a much needed card to give other control decks a chance against Jade druid end game value wise

  32. RV
    August 3, 2017 at 8:21 am

    Battlecry: Jade Druid loses.

See it as a very viable tech choice against certain decks, maybe a 1 of if you see a lot of Jade Druids.

    August 3, 2017 at 8:06 am

I have a question: if Nerubian Unraveler is in play, will this card destroy 1-cost spells in your hand? (It will probably destroy them in your deck, since it works differently)

    • Ertje
      August 3, 2017 at 8:40 am

I assume it will destroy them. It will look at the card and have the knowledge what its cost is.

If it doesn’t happen then it’s a nice way to have some use for nerubian unraveler

  37. TacoRocco
    August 3, 2017 at 8:01 am

This card is an insane meta counter. It can be used against a wide range of decks such as Jade Druid (kills Jade Idol), Control Warrior (Kills shield slam and Whirlwind), Pirate Warrior (Kills Upgrade), Paladin (kills secrets), and so much more. Jade Druid would probably be the one hit the hardest with losing 1 cost spells because Jade Idol is such a strong card that allows the deck to keep summoning Golems well into the late game.

    • Moltar
      August 3, 2017 at 8:07 am

Vs pirate warrior, by the time you play this, you probably already lost.

      • TacoRocco
        August 3, 2017 at 8:37 am

Well it stops a Warrior from turning their turn 6 Arcanite Reaper from 10 damage to 18 damage. It’s just an example though, I was just listing strong/staple 1 mana spells.

        • Moltar
          August 3, 2017 at 8:45 am

I know, but timing is important also. Spending turn 6 to remove upgrade, vs pirate warrior, you basically wasted your turn, since this guy will just be ignored while he is spamming “astonishing” while your face gets crushed and turns into a crater.

          August 3, 2017 at 3:21 pm

You see, Blizzard planned it to happen this way. They KNEW they were making Jade Idol, they KNEW they were making this card, so they changed Execute to two mana almost a year and a half ago so it would be good for Knights of the Frozen Throne and Control Warrior could stage a glorious comeback.

          Execute nerf? Execute buff!

  42. Moonwalker
    August 3, 2017 at 7:44 am

I’m not agree with a card that changes the enemy deck. You should not be able to destroy or modify cards from enemy deck. Same as new warlock card Gnomeferatu…

  43. Xander Raidon
    August 3, 2017 at 7:40 am

I’m okay with soft-counter cards, but this is just a Free Win against stuff like Jade Druid, Malygos Rogue and even Evolve Shaman if you manage to destroy both his evolves.

        • Bythos
          August 3, 2017 at 10:50 am

It is not situational. If you have it in your hand, just play it. Doesnt matter what time you play this.

  45. Peter
    August 3, 2017 at 7:38 am

This makes control better against jade druid.

You wont have to worry about potion of madness tricks if you are holding on to smaller minions in your hand. It also removes their shields, say anti priest of the fiest into shield. This is also a 4 attack minion!

This card can be coined to counter doppelgangster + evolve.

Paladins will have a hard time holding on to their secrets, in hand, from hydrologist.

Quest warrior loses whirlwind and shieldslam.

Rogues lose cold blood and hallucination, which is ok against aggro, auctioneer, questing adventurer and Edwin.

I think this card has a pretty good impact on a lot of decks. 4,5/5 imo

Yea bad desing card, they could have just delete jade idol from game.

There will be games this card doesnt do anything and you lose = fustration
Then you take it out and face a jade druid = frustration
And dont forget your opponent playing jade druid has feelings and when you play (showing a great deal of skill) this card he will feel = frustation

So in the end a very frustaiting card wich is bad for the game

It is but good but it works against priest and rogue pretty well. Power spells get removed. Hunter abd mage doesnt lose anything usefull what isnt fair at all.
