Battlegrounds Lobby Legends: Spring Championship Happens This Weekend (May 27-28, 2023)

If you like the Hearthstone Battlegrounds game mode and want to watch the highest level of competition, you should definitely tune into this weekend’s Battlegrounds Lobby Legends: Spring Championship. It’s one of the only three official Battlegrounds tournaments this year after the esports downsizing announced earlier this year (last year we had 9 of them).

Unlike the old Battlegrounds tournaments, this one is NOT invitational – players got qualified based on merit (ladder finishers & qualifiers). It should make things very interesting, as those are all top-ranked players.

We’re just after Patch 26.2 – a big Battlegrounds minions remix – has rolled out completely, so players will compete in a brand-new meta that hasn’t been fully figured out yet. That means that we should see a lot of interesting Hero picks and strategies that weren’t previously available.

The event will be streamed on both Twitch and YouTube this weekend, on May 27-28 (starting at 9 AM PT / 6 PM CET). Sadly, the event doesn’t offer drops of any kind, you won’t get any packs for watching it.

Tavern Buddy- English Twitch Extension

tavern buddy explainer.png

We are thrilled to dive into the possibilities of a new Twitch Extension during the Lobby Legends broadcast. With “Tavern Buddy”, viewers will be able to challenge each other and our casters with their HS knowledge while supporting their favorite players and predicting how various matches will go. Who is the biggest Battlegrounds fan? Who has the magical premonitions to know what is to come? This is your chance to find out and lord those bragging rights over your friends!

Viewers answer a series of yes/no or over/under questions at the start of every broadcast, such as “Will one player get 1st place more than once?” Points are earned for each correct answer.

Before the start of each Group, viewers choose 3 players they believe will perform the best out of the 8. Viewers earn points based on their game results.

Viewers pick a player during the first few turns of each game. Points are earned based on that player’s finish. The earlier they choose, the more possible points.

Once during each game, the broadcast will focus on a single matchup and viewers will be asked to predict the winner of that turn.
