(Update: Heroic Duels Reopened) Bans for Exploiting Heroic Duels, 10 Tavern Tickets As Compensation For Affected Players

Update: Heroic Duels has been reopened. As previously promised, affected players who faced the cheaters will get 10 Tavern Tickets as compensation at a later date.

Shortly after Patch 28.4, Heroic Duels mode was disabled because some players were cheating. Apparently, they were using third party software to circumvent deck building restrictions, thus creating broken decks.

Blizzard is working on a fix right now, but the cheating accounts have already been banned. Players who lost games to one of the cheaters will receive 10 Tavern Tickets as a compensation. They will be added to players’ accounts next week.

Read the official statement below:

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, we disabled Heroic Duels to prevent malicious users from using third party software to break deckbuilding restrictions. This is a violation of our Terms of Service, and the offending accounts have been banned.

We are currently testing a fix to close the vulnerability as soon as possible. Once confirmed, this will be added in a server-side hotfix and the Heroic Duels queue will be reenabled.

Additionally, players who had lost Heroic Duels games to illegal decks will receive 10 Tavern Tickets–these will be granted to impacted player accounts next week.

Thank you for your patience.
