Ashes of Outland Theorycrafting Livestreams – Join Your Favorite Streamers With Early Access – March 26

I’ve got some good news, or bad news, depending on whether you like to watch the pre-release streams. On the one hand, it’s pretty fun to check out the new cards played so early, and it doesn’t do much harm on the actual meta (because let’s be honest, a few streamers won’t discover what’s best in such a limited environment). On the other hand, it ruins the fun for some people, showcasing which cards might work well and which not. But more competitive players feel obligated to still watch it despite that, exactly because it’s better to theorycraft based on limited experience than none experience at all.

Still, tomorrow (March 26), a bunch of popular streamers / pro players will be streaming Ashes of Outland and making their own decks / testing them among themselves. Here’s the list of announced players:

If we go by the previous theorycrafting livestreams, more players might join them too next day (March 27). We’ll see.

Would you like us to share theorycrafting deck lists from those streamers? We’ll be creating our own theorycrafts (but those will be PURE theorycrafts with no testing, obviously), but if you would like us to posts decks tested by Thijs, Regis, Kripp, Dog and so on, we can do that too. Let us know in the comments!

      >> where is Dekkster?
For the most part, these people all regularly have > 1k average twitch viewers whereas Dekkster is mid-200s. But that’s not a true for all 16, so it’s unclear how/why exactly they picked them.

My immediate response was “yes, but only the decent ones”. Except then I saw Phobetor’s comment and remembered the horror that was Galakrond Shaman utterly destroying the meta Day 1, due largely in part to how successful and public it was in the last theorycrafting livestreams. But then I thought, “well–as much as I love HTD–its not like 1 article from them is going to make/break the global meta”. So long story short: maybe?

I wish Blizzard would stop with this – feels like this kind of thing kills hype around the expansion’s launch. I mean, TWO WEEKS of streaming w/ new cards will define the meta in a way that ruins the fun. They literally do this EVERY TIME, and why don’t they just take a break?

This is also a case of favoritism towards certain streamers. Disappointing.

I don’t really think it’s going to be 2 weeks, I think that it’s a one-time event. They definitely wouldn’t do it for 2 weeks, it would make no sense.

Whether they get nerfed or not, I’m crafting every Demon Hunter card I don’t open, I’m only playing Demon Hunter until I unlock the 1000 hero portrait which will be years since I suck lol ;p

You can’t just play with pure Demon Hunter, since they’re not supporting Pure Demon Hunter deck. This means, it’s possible that you need Neutral cards too.

So, as usual, we should wait at least 1-2 weeks until the meta stabilized in ranked before we craft everything. (or not, because they decided to nerf OP cards again in the first week like in the past)

I can stress this out more, but every deck I’ve built so far always got nerfed in the past. So Imma sit this one out, and then push the ranking in the 2nd half of the month.

In short, I think with the total cards that rotating into the wild, there’s gonna be enough dust to craft one full deck or two. I just don’t wanna repeat the same mistakes again.

Yeah, that’s pretty much always the case. That’s probably the biggest F2P disadvantage in Hearthstone too – if you’re buying lots of packs, you can just craft anything without being worried that it gets nerfed (because you have so much Dust). And if don’t buy lots of packs, you go all in on a deck and it gets nerfed… well, that sucks :/

I hope that no dupe in packs rule will help F2P players at least a bit 🙂
