Scenario

You start off randomly as one of the two bosses. Each boss has a unique deck, hero power (Ragnaros has two), and starting health!

Ragnaros the Firelord

  • Health: 60
  • Starts equipped with Sulfuras
  • Hero Power – Molten Rage (2) – Summon a 5/1 Magma Rager.
  • After Sulfuras’ Deathrattle – Die, Insect! (2) – Deal 8 damage to a random enemy.

Nefarian

  • Health: 30 with 30 Armor
  • Starts with 5 Mana
  • Hero Power – Wild Magic (2) – Add a random spell from any class into your hand. It costs (0).

Decks

Basic Strategy

Nefarian

Pump out that Hero Power! One (0) mana Mind Control can win you a game easily (RIP my Golemagg). You are the aggressive deck so do as Hunter’s do and go face! Atramedes, Vaelastrasz, and Razorgore are great cards for you, and are very difficult for Ragnaros to deal with. Be wary of letting your minions fall to 6 or 3 Health because of Son of the Flame (3 mana) and Fire Elemental (6 mana). On turn 7 you are looking out for Flamestrike. Also keep track of if Coren Direbrew has been played because Brawl goes immediately into the hand of the Ragnaros player.

Ragnaros

Look for Living Lava, Living Bomb, Son of the Flame, and perhaps even Lucifron. You need to survive Nefarian’s initial onslaught and make it into the late game. You should be attacking with Sulfuras IMMEDIATELY so you can move into your next Hero Power which will hopefully be picking off a minion each turn. On the turn the Sulfuras Deathrattle goes off you can actually use your hero power twice: use Molten Rage, attack with the weapon (Deathrattle triggers), then you can use Die, Insect! Core Hound Puppies can be strong and easily start multiplying like Grim Patron if Nefarian can’t clear them.
