Hearthstone Esports 2025 Program Details

TJ is great. I’m not sure what he has to do with this exactly XD I’m pretty sure he just casts.
Anyway, I’m trying to be happy about this year’s scheme but it’s kind of hard. 2022’s model was amazing compared to this. It was a much better balance of conquest qualifiers and ladder to qualify. It was also way less convoluted than this. I still can’t remember off the top of my head this scheme for 2025. I guess when compared to the last 2 years when hearthstone e-sports didn’t even try, this is better, sure, but that’s just two low bars. Also, for the opens, can they figure out some incentive to finishing higher than 4th? Or they’ll just say no need to play the final semi-final matches? The one positive note is that there’s room for third party tournaments I guess to qualify for the new “playoffs” stage.

What Decks Will Be Playable in The Great Dark Beyond Pre-Release Brawl?

“The card pool in the event ditches the 2023 expansions already now, even though they will still be around in Standard until early next year.”

ffs why?? I assumed this was a mindless glitch like they forgot it was still one expansion until the yearly rotation. The entire point of this brawl is to tinker with new stuff. Who wants to do that without half of the sets?? The decks won’t even match the meta. I’m not even playing the brawl due to the huge hassle of trying to figure out how to remake a valid decent deck. This is very stupid of them.

Wait, shouldn’t this say, “for each health your hero is missing”? Otherwise you could damage self ala Warlock or otherwise, heal, and this would still be discounted. Give me medal Blizz I don’t usually catch these

(Out Now!) Hearthstone 29.2 Patch Notes - Battlegrounds Season 7 with Duos, Umpire's Grasp Nerf, Twist & Arena Updates, Diamond Hero Skins and more!

They still have to nerf the more appropriate card. The cards can still be played independent of one another. Admittedly I’m behind in the game (Whizbang deck currently) and don’t know which card that you are referring.

Completely aside that though, they just raised the weekly quest requirements from 5 wins to effing 15! That is way overkill. Making the hamster wheel slower is not fooling anyone. This change sucks.

Shop Update: Harth Stonebrew Bundle & Signature Bundle

My question is: I was assuming that Harth, alongside the other cards labeled as Event set, were temporary to standard until maybe around when the expansion drops/when the in-game event is scheduled to end. So they’re selling this diamond Harth card that many people will probably assume can be used in standard (at least for longer than a couple weeks)? O_o The only info that I’ve been able to find is something on reddit from someone named RidiculousHat, whom google told me is a community manager for the game, that says “these cards are yours to keep but the standard legality is not locked in – we’ll update you on when they rotate” – Really shady if this is the only info anwhere stating that event cards are leaving standard soon, and meanwhile they try to sell this diamond and golden Harth card before people realize. In standard Harth and the gift cards might be pretty good, but wild is a different story. I would even go so far as to say that I’m pretty sure that they obviously schemed to intentionally mislead people about the longevity of this event set. If only Blizzard used their power for good and not evil hehe

Good point about the golden version too, why not give that one out from the event and just sell the diamond one? No way they should just be clunked together in the same bundle. Golden non-pack-drop (uncraftable) cards are supposed to have a thought-out way to acquire them beside just in the shop with the diamond one. It’s really just a shame; the easily predictable effect of their ill choice means simply that we’ll never really see the golden Harth played since anyone owning that will also own the diamond one. Here’s a crazy idea that only took me a minute to think up: Just sell the golden Harth on the side for in-game gold or cash. This just reminds me of how dumb it is that you don’t get golden cards from the end of month rewards anymore. As for one last tangent I’ll take, I’ve opened a bunch of golden packs and never got a signature card from any. Do they think if they doubled the rate of signature/legendary/golden/etcetera drops, that they’d make any less money? They would probably make more, but they’re so greedy and stubborn that they’d rather just slowly dry out the interest in their game and sponge it for all it’s worth.

But I won’t have any faith in team5 until they miraculously bring back the much beloved esport qualifier tournaments. Ladder is no way to qualify for a major master’s tour tournament – only qualifying through other tournaments is the real deal, the way the game is meant to be played. But I know that they barely care about esports at all, which is a shame because they could make bank and hype from it like they always did before. In my opinion, Hearthstone was the game that made esports cool, and the dev team may have underestimated the effect the esports had on the game’s early growth and spike of interest. Team5 are the only ones who hampered themselves. The player interest was always massive as a direct result of the qualifiers – it’s not like it had slowed down before the rug was pulled out.

I think most would agree that it should be announced that open qualifiers return next season and restore hearthstone esports to greatness again – or it’s a bust for this diminished world yearly finals.

Hearthstone 26.0.4 Patch Notes - Death Knight Discovery Changes, Constructed, Battlegrounds & Duels Balance Changes + Bug Fixes

There can’t be one card that retains a teeny bit of classic rng? The flavor of the card is the epitome of that tense moment of chance. And it adds skill to the game. Think about contemplating playing lightning storm not knowing exactly what will happen, and hedging that against other potential plays. That would almost certainly add a wrinkle of skill.

Hearthstone 26.0.4 Patch Notes - Death Knight Discovery Changes, Constructed, Battlegrounds & Duels Balance Changes + Bug Fixes

It costs less than consecration, can only go up in damage, and nobody really cares about face with it. Seems quite OP for 3 dmg to all for 3 mana 1 overload. But I hate every time they disrupt the way a card was clearly meant to feel and work by its original design and taste. Come on, you can’t even imagine a lightning storm just blanket hitting everything in the area for the same amount.

The Best Festival of Legends Decks from the First Week!

Immune is a funny keyword that means exactly: the minions cannot be damaged (by numerical damage) and cannot be targeted, like a faerie dragon. Anything else goes. Immune things from Jailer can definitely die but depends on very specific cards. I don’t think a poisonous can attack into one either because of the targeting rule. So unless I’m forgetting something, it needs targetless removal spells to remove, so should actually be pretty rare. Like the relic would try to hit it, but then the numerical immunity kicks in.

Why do they never realize they should undo the change to lightning storm and bring back the random 2-3 damage, especially if they’re buffing it again to 1 overload. It only makes too much sense. It’s a freaking lightning storm, the randomness is supposed to be there. Don’t suck all the fun out of the game.

Oh I forgot yesterday it deleted some of my random decks in the middle to make room for the “Arthas” decks. The really weird thing is just now I have 3 more death knight decks out of nowhere on the bottom of my list that aren’t the deck recipes or the starting Arthas decks. One is triple-unholy, one is 2x blood 1x frost, and one is 2x frost 1x blood.
Seriously wtf Blizzard

Anyone else’s prologue just completely bafflingly broken at the end? And the map’s graphical layout made 0 sense. The chest also showed being open after 3/4 encounters.
And my legendary event questline vanished.

Corpse Explosion

So it kills the board no matter what for 5, as long as there are corpses? Is this worded correctly? It’s just that it seems like something would need to die to keep the “corpse explosion” chain going, but also I can see how it would work as worded. So do corpses that are currently dying to the spell get added to the count that itself requires?
