Upcoming Expansion Teaser – “The Scientist”

This is most likely the final teaser before actual announcement, since we now know the entire gang! The last two villains are Dr. Boom and Arch-Thief Rafaam. Now, the only question left is – what are they actually planning?

If you have any theories, be sure to leave a comment!

First of all, tks a lot for your posts STONEKEEP!

I play HS for 3 years but i don’t have a clue on its characters history. I know they all were featured in Warcraft. Where can i have a hint on the “background” of this characters? I ask this because i read forums and a lot of people seem to know their past and achievments… where they all warcraft players?

Rafaam is original to Hearthstone. Calling himself “the supreme archaeologist”, the ethereal travels different worlds searching for powerful artifacts. He is known for his possession of three artifacts in particular – the Lantern of Power, the Mirror of Doom, and the Timepiece of Horror.[2]

      From Wowpedia:

Treading the chaotic spaces between worlds, the ethereals are astral travelers who dwell within the Twisting Nether. They are known to be collectors and traders of arcane items and artifacts. Now drawn to Outland, many ethereals are seeking to track down its treasures and steal them back into the Twisting Nether. They are liars and scoundrels who will stop at nothing to pursue their mysterious aims. The ethereals have no care at all for the Burning Crusade. They would even play both sides of the conflict against each other if doing so would serve to further their own goals.

Actually, all of those characters (except Dr. Boom) are HS originals! Dr. Boom also doesn’t have much of a backstory in WoW, you just had to kill him for one Quest (and since you had to use Bombs to do it, he was immune to normal attacks, and people used to train weapon skills on him, but that was a long time ago). Fortune Teller is a new character, she was only used in Whispers of the Old Gods trailer before. Rafaam is from League of Explorers, Togwaggle is from Kobolds & Catacombs, Hagatha is from The Witchwood and Dr. Boom is from Boomsday Project (you could say Goblins vs Gnomes, but the actual character development happened in Boomsday). They don’t have A LOT of backstory yet.

Most of the HS story is told through PvE content, hints dropped here and there, as well as the pre-expansion lore posts/videos.

Come to think about it, we might do a lore overview for the new expansion when it’s officially announced, detailing who those villains are exactly 🙂

Well… .you blew my mind! I tough all of this charaters were WoW ones and they had some sort of background together.
I love to play HS but i confess i’ve never spend much time reading the storyline of the expansions. I guess i should 😉
