There’s a Hidden, 25th Battlegrounds Quest Reward (Partner in Crime) And Here’s How You Can Get It

Ever since the last patch happened, some players were reporting a previously unknown Quest reward – Partner in Crime. After completing, it gives you a Golden version of your Hero’s Buddy card. It seemed incredibly rare, and – in fact – it was. Blizzard has just revealed conditions that need to be met before the reward can appear and they’re quite difficult.

  • All players in the lobby need to be playing a Hero that has a Buddy (so the newer Heroes released after Buddies were gone don’t count – and let’s be honest, usually at least one player is playing one of the new Heroes).
  • On top of that, no player can be playing Sir Finley or Elise Starseeker. (Finely because he can discover HP of a hero with no buddy, Elise because her HP got reworked and no longer works well with her buddy).
  • If those criteria are met, there’s a 1% chance to get a Partner in Crime lobby. If it happens, all players get an option to pick that reward. (It’s hard to say whether it’s actually a good pick or not, since there’s so little data on it, but I would have probably taken it just for the sake of it.)

As you can see, it might take you hundreds of matches to get a single Partner in Crime lobby. Does it really matter? Honestly, no, not that much. But it’s a way for the whole lobby to once again play with buddies even though they’re officially gone for now!

The mystery was revealed on the official Hearthstone forums, you can read the post below:

Super-sleuths tracked down the rumors and put together the clues to discover that there was, in fact, another Battlegrounds Quest Reward option! This last, elusive Quest Reward is called Partner in Crime, and the Reward grants you your Hero’s Golden Buddy when completed.

Unlike all the other Battlegrounds Quest Rewards, Partner in Crime is only offered in very specific circumstances. Specifically, ALL heroes in the lobby must have a valid Buddy option (that means no heroes that came after Buddies left, like Sire Denathrius or Queen Azshara), and also nobody can be playing as Sir Finley or Elise Starseeker.
If your lobby fits these criteria, there is then a 1% chance of the lobby rolling Partner in Crime. If you do, it will be offered to everyone in the lobby.

Congratulations to everyone who helped solve the mystery, and good luck to everyone still searching for their Partner in Crime!
