Brawl Block: Feeling Adventurous? Chalkboard

General Information

  • You get one Classic card pack for winning your first game this week.
  • It’s the first time we see this Brawl. However, it’s the fifth “Brawl Block” type of Brawl.
  • It’s a PvP Brawl.
  • The Brawl has a custom format.
  • It’s a Constructed Brawl. You pick a class and build your own deck.
  • Gameplay itself has no additional twists. The only difference between regular Constructed are the sets you can build decks from.
  • You can ONLY use cards from Adventures (Curse of Naxxramas, Blackrock Mountain, League of Explorers, One Night in Karazhan and Galakrond’s Awakening), as well as Descent of Dragons. No other sets are available (not even Basic/Classic). So the real challenge is in deck building itself.

I love these brawl block style events. They really make you think up new decks with new combos. I wish there was a “Custom Games” section of Hearthstone where you could specify special rules for deck building and then other people could join and play a tournament with those rules. Rules could be expansion blocks, or only certain number of cards like: only 1 legendary, only 2 epics, only 4 rares and the rest commons of something. Would allow you to keep playing and seeing new setups without the same repetitive meta decks.

I built a Dragon Hunter, tried it twice and won twice. The deck is very unrefined so feel free to change some cards.

This is possibly the best deck I have played in tavern brawl in a while. It basically plays itself. Nice Build!

Hey is it possible to change the class for the brawl once you choose it? And if how you can change. I accidently choose hunter and realized i almost have no cards suitable for that brawl…

Yeah, you can change decks as much as you want. Go in to edit deck, then there’s a delete button at the bottom, then you can make a new deck.

    2x Risky Skipper
    2x Grim Patron
    26x whatever (mostly Galakrond)

Can anyone tell if random and discovered card generation are only from the block sets? Looks like random cards are, since Cobalt Spellkin gave me nothing but Boom Squad. I didn’t play enough discover cards to tell for sure.

It seems that way – randomly generated cards are also only from the available sets.
