A Temporus Shift Chalkboard

General Information

  • You get one Standard card pack for winning your first game this week.
  • It’s the seventh time we see this Brawl. Last time we’ve seen it on October 5, 2022.
  • It’s a PvP Brawl.
  • It’s a build your own deck Brawl.
  • The Brawl’s format is Standard.
  • You play with normal, Standard decks with one twist – each player takes 2 turns instead of one at a time (except the first turn – player going first takes only one turn to start with as a balance measure).
  • You want to find a deck that can take the best advantage of that – probably an Aggro deck, especially with some powerful buffs (where you can build a board on your first turn and then burst opponent down with AoE buffs on your second). You can also try some combo decks, which set up combo on first turn and then perform it on second turn (although those might not do very well vs Aggro since you might have to survive until late game).
  • Cards that are normally slow / come with a huge downside might turn out to be useful in this Brawl. For example, cards with effect that triggers at the start of your turn (like Doomsayer) can be guaranteed to trigger if you play them on your 1st turn. You can also drop Millhouse Manastorm on your 1st turn without worrying about the downside, although a 2 mana 4/4 without a downside isn’t even particularly good in the current year.
  • When building a slow deck, Taunts have as big of a role as board clears. Since you can’t play board clears between your opponent’s turn, all you can do is prevent some damage with Taunts. So if you want to play a longer, Control game, the ideal scenario is playing a board clear on your first turn and then Taunting up on the second turn.

i don’t get the point of this brawl.

the best choice is a run-of-the-mill standard aggro deck like frost death knight.
there is no way to use the special rules to your advantage, except maybe that aggro gets a slight push because the interaction is even lower than in normal hearthstone games.

and still we get the same brawl every 4 months or so

it’s been only 12 weeks since we last had this brawl.
nothing has changed, i even used the same deck again
(make sure you have enough board space for your massacre turn)

i used mech mage, because the double turns allow me two mechashark massacres in a row, but i doubt that thats the best way to abuse that play mode

Murloc shaman does really well in this Brawl.

A small correction to the description:
“You play with normal, Standard decks with one twist – each player takes 2 turns instead of one at a time (except the first turn – each player takes only 1 turn at start).”

Only the player that goes first play a single turn. the player that goes second inmediatly plays two turns.. It goes like this:

    P1: T1
    P2: T1-T2
    P1: T2-T3
    P2: T3-T4
    etc…

Thanks for the correction! Since I’m on EU, I can’t play those Brawls right away, so I have to rely on the info other people are posting (and it’s not always 100% correct).

Mech Paladin kills here. Even a mediocre starting hand will probably get you a win in this brawl since you can play a mech then magnetize everything to it and go face on your next turn. You also have several high-health taunts to survive your agro opponent’s early board.
