Master’s Tour Bucharest Survival Guide + Twitch Drops

Masters Tour Bucharest will happen this weekend, and it’s the first major tournament since the Doom in the Tomb event started, which means that players had to prepare completely new line-ups compared to what they qualified with. Notably, tournament will also go roughly a year back, before Specialist and later Conquest with shielding were invented and tested out (both of which had a rather poor reception). It’s also the last Masters Tour stop this year, before Global Finals at BlizzCon. It all makes the stakes even higher, because two players with highest earnings from each region (after the 2019 season is over) will get invited for the upcoming season of Grandmasters in place of relegated players (so players with lowest score from each grup).

General Information

Format

Like I’ve mentioned before, Masters Tour Bucharest is the first major event that goes back to Best of Five Conquest with a single ban (so players bring 4 decks in total). It’s the most tested and successful format, despite having its own downsides.

Here’s how each of the days will look like:

  • Day 1: Five rounds of Swiss.
  • Day 2: Players with three or more match wins (3-2 score or better) will play through four more rounds of Swiss.
  • Day 3: The Top 8 players will advance to single elimination bracket and the winner will be decided!

Additionally, each player who finishes with AT LEAST 7-2 score (so goes through both days without dropping out) will be automatically qualified to Masters Tour Arlington, as well as the next Masters Tour event yet to be announced.

Where to Watch

Broadcast start at 9 AM local time each day (which is 11 PM PDT or 8 AM CEST). Keep in mind that due to time zone differences, PDT broadcast starts on October 17!

Here’s a full list of streams in different languages:

Twitch Drops

Twitch drops are back once again – you can earn free packs simply for watching the tournament on any of the official channels listed above. Twitch drops start once the broadcast begins and last for 11 hours each day.

Just like last time, there are 2 guaranteed packs – watch the stream for 3 hours to get a Saviors of Uldum card pack. Watch for 3 more (so 6 in total) for another one. Total time counts, so if you watch it for 2 hours every day for 3 days, you will still get both packs.

On top of that, 1,500 Classic Packs will be dropped for random people every hour. This reward is not guaranteed and (just like lots of things in HS) is RNG-dependent. If you get lucky, you might get a few of those, if you don’t – you won’t get any.

But first, before being eligible for Twitch Drops, you need to link your Twitch and Battle.net accounts. If you still haven’t done that, here’s the official instruction on how to proceed:

  • Log in or create an account on Twitch.tv.
  • Navigate to the Settings menu by clicking your account name in the top-right corner of the home screen.
  • Navigate to the Connections tab of the Settings menu.
  • Find the Battle.net section, then follow the instructions after selecting a region and clicking Connect.
  • When connecting accounts, be sure that you’re currently logged into the Blizzard account on which you’d like to receive your rewards.

If I open another broadcast from a different language, would I have a higher chance to get a classic pack drop? I current have the English one open!

I have a question about the Twitch Drops. This 2 packs for 6 hours is for the total event right? This mean if i watch 6 hours Day 1, 6 hours day 2 and 6 hours day 3 i will only get 2 packs right?
