Hearthstone Quest Guide – How New Daily & Weekly Quests Work, List of All Quests With Rewards

Patch 19.0 was just released, and with it came a completely revamped progression system. Quests no longer give Gold, but experience points, which then progress you on the rewards track. While some of the old Quests were transformed 1 to 1 to the new system, many of them were removed and new ones were added in their place. Quest are now more diverse, including ones that ask you to play other game modes. On top of that, Weekly Quests were added to the mix.

In this guide, we’ll cover how the new Quests work and show you a full list with XP numbers.

Weekly Quests

Weekly Quests are new addition to Hearthstone’s progression system. Essentially, they work similarly to how Quests did in the past, but instead of getting a new one every day, you get a complete set of three each week. They reset each Monday at midnight server time – which means that if you haven’t finished them by Sunday evening, then they will be replaced with new ones. And it’s definitely worth it to finish them, as they give you much more XP than dailies.

You get three Weekly Quests each week – one is selected among the 2500 XP ones, while the second and third are selected among 1750 XP ones. Currently, there’s only a single 2500 XP Quest, so that’s what players are sure to get each week. Additionally, you can re-roll those Quests just like Dailies – once per day. Currently there are 12 Weekly Quests available. Here’s a full list:

Quest Text Reward

Deal 200 damage to enemy heroes. 1750 XP
Deal 2000 damage to enemy minions in Battlegrounds. 1750 XP

Win a game with 4 different classes. 1750 XP

Daily Quests

The new Daily Quests work very similarly to how they did before the progression system revamp. However, instead of giving Gold, they give XP, which then progresses you on the rewards track. There are three tiers of Daily Quests – 800 XP, 1000 XP and 1500 XP – the first two categories are common, the last one is premium, just like the 80/100 Gold Quests used to be in the past.

You get one extra Daily Quest, at midnight server time and can hold up to 3 at the same time. You can also re-roll one Quest each day.

There are currently a total of 65 different Daily Quests. Here’s a full list of them:

Legendary Quests

Legendary Quests are special kind of Quests, which aren’t repeatable. They’re one-time Quests added during events, new releases and such, usually coming with much better rewards (like multiple card packs). While I won’t list them, since they change quite often, I wanted to mention that they won’t occupy your usual Daily Quest slots anymore. Instead, there’s a special slot for Legendary Quests. Previously, if you had a full Quest Log and received a Legendary Quest, it forcibly replaced one of your dailies, which was quite annoying. Right now it will be added next to your Dailies, making the whole experience much less clunky.

That explains why I can’t reroll that stupid win 7 ranked games quest. I’m not playing ranked until the new expansion releases, I’m just dead tired of the meta at the moment.

Oh well, glad y’all had the answer for me!

Re-rolled one my weekly quests and got the « Play an Old God Legendary from the Darkmoon Faire 10 times»-quest. Open 88 packs and didnt get any old god legendaries. So I guess I will only get 2 new quests next week :/

So in hearthstone under the rewards track tab, it says “resets next expansion”.
Are we to assume that it will reset once Darkmoon actuelly hits, or for the expansion after darkmoon?

Sure, let’s make a battle pass for 5 days. It’ll reset in 4 months xd!

The expansion after Darkmoon, of course :p We’re already on the Darkmoon patch (19.0), it’s just that the expansion wasn’t released yet.

Wait… there’s a weekly quest that requires you to finish in the top 2 in battlegrounds. Like once? What? lol

It shouldn’t be that hard if you’re a BG player, right? And if you aren’t, you can just re-roll any BG Quests.

The first time I logged in after they introduced the new progression system I got something that seemed like a quest – Play three games for one legendary and three classic packs. But I don’t seem to get this reward after completing the requirements. I didn’t see the ‘quest’ in the row of quests either, so I think it might be an error. Just wanted to check if anyone else had the same thing happening.

I have a question! Will my Tavern Pass expired when a new Expansion come out ?

No, this Tavern Pass is for Darkmoon, so it will only expire in the next expansion (~4 months from now).

Are you sure you can only hold 3 daily quests? There are 4 slots after all. Also, you said daily instead of weekly at one point in the weekly quests section and the “the” before Hearthstone in that section makes no sense.

I think that you can hold 3? When you have 0-2 Quests, there’s a “New Quest in X hours” message, it doesn’t appear when you have 3. The last slot seems to be reserved for Legendary Quests, but of course, I’m not 100% sure yet since the system is brand new. I’ll investigate and update the guide accordingly.

And thanks for pointing out the errors, I’ll fix them.

Edit: I changed Daily to Weekly where it was wrong, but I think that “the Hearthstone’s progression system” is fine, because “the” doesn’t refer to Hearthstone, but to progression system. It sounds good to me. But I’m not a native speaker so I’m not 100% sure.

That’s not how English works. If you say “the Hearthstone’s progression system”, that means “progression system of the Hearthstone”. You want to say either “Hearthstone’s progression system” (no “the”) or “the Hearthstone progression system” (no ‘s), in which case “the” would refer to the progression system. But with the ‘s, any article before the noun refers to the noun, not the thing belonging to it. Of the two correct ways to formulate it, keeping the ‘s and removing “the” is the best one and sounds best.

In fact, “the Hearthstone progression system” (the other possible formulation I mentioned) would probably be incorrect as well because I believe it would mean “the system of Hearthstone progression” and not “the progression system in Hearthstone”, which is what you intend.

So “Hearthstone’s progression system” (no “the” before Hearthstone) is the only real correct syntax.

Is it just me or the “Master of All” quest disappeared?? Or I didn’t got the rewards after completion.

Will there be a guide for the pass you pay for that gives XP boosts? I wonder if it’s worth the value based on the amount of time one spends on the game.

Yes, I’m writing a guide for rewards track including Tavern Pass info / calculations right now. Should be out tomorrow.
