Archon’s Pinnacle 3

Archon’s Pinnacle 3 took place February 24th, 2015 – February 26th, 2015.

The Pinnacle tournament series differs by using the Coup system:

  • Each player is allowed 1 “coup” per series. Players can use a coup to ban opponent’s deck after seeing the matchup.

The most notable decks were used by Gaara which were noticeably absent from the released deck lists.

Piloted Shredder and Dr. Boom continue to be the most prevalent cards in Hearthstone. The Shredder appeared in 60.7% of decks, this was 25% ahead of the next common card, Ironbeak Owl. Dr. Boom didn’t hit the 75% he did in the ESL Grand Final, but he did manage to wind up in 64.3% of decks. Loatheb and Sylvanas Windrunner continue to be top tier legendaries appearing in 50% of decks.

While Paladin saw zero play at ESL it seemed to be the fourth deck of choice between it and Warrior representing 10.7% of the decks. Druid still remains the top dog, while Rogue trailed it by a mere 3.5%. Priest was the big loser being brought by none of the players.

ESL Legendary Series Grand Final Winter 2014/2015

ESL’s Legendary Series for Winter 2014/2015 has reached its conclusion. The Grand Finals took place February 21st and 22nd, it sent the top point getters and winners from prior weeks against each other in best of five double elimination matches.

If you are unsure if Dr. Boom is overpowered then the fact that it appeared in 75% of the decks might sway you. It might be time to bring back your big minions with Big Game Hunter only appearing in 37.5% of decks, while Azure Drake has stood the test of time as one of the most consistent 5 drops by showing up in 45.8% of decks. If you were looking for a runner up to Dr. Boom as the most successful card from Goblins vs. Gnomes then look no further then Piloted Shredder who showed up in 62.5% of decks.
