Root Invitational

A full list of decks from the Root Hearthstone Invitational! We’ve also included the VODs and card stats below.

Notable Decks

There were a lot of different decks in this tournament. You have Chakki’s near full set of Mill/Fatigue decks, TidesofTime’s Echo Mage and Grommash free Control Warrior. LifeCoach brought a Warlock deck that was a struggle for me to name. Just a lot of different decks which was pretty refreshing.

Notable Stats

Loatheb refused to be left down for long and tied Dr. Boom by showing up in 53.1% of decks. The new top card, however, is Piloted Shredder beating out both popular legendaries at 68.8%. Sludge Belcher and Azure Drake continue to fight it out for the top Rare with Sludge Belcher coming out on top at 46.9%. One of the biggest jumps on the charts was Antique Healbot. It went from not even being seen on the Commons list at Kinguin 3, to becoming the second most popular common, and breaking the top cards list at 40.6%!

Druid and Mage tied for the top classes of the tournament. Priest was only brought by TidesofTime, and Shaman was completely left out.

Kinguin 3 Spring 2015

Here are Kinguin for Charity’s Spring 2015 deck lists, VODs, and card stats! The meta has settled down quite a bit, but there were a couple of unique decks among the standard stuff.

Notable Decks

We haven’t seen a Secrets Mage in a while, and while Kaldi didn’t get far in the tournament this deck was very interesting.

This deck has parts of the old Backspace Rogue, elements of the new Oil Rogue, and some Mech sprinkled in.

Notable Stats

No surprise to see Dr. Boom and Piloted Shredder at the top of the card list. Sludge Belcher jumped nearly 20% since the ESL Finale, finding itself in 51.9% of decks. Harrison Jones is increasingly entering decks finding its highest played percentage recently at 34.6%

Priest again finds itself at the bottom of the barrel, and you know things are bad when not even Amaz brings it. Shaman and Warlock saw little to no play making up 3.8% of the decks brought to the tournament each.

The big winner again is Druid, 14 of 16 players brought the class, making it far and away the most popular class right now in tournament play.

Archon’s Pinnacle 3

Archon’s Pinnacle 3 took place February 24th, 2015 – February 26th, 2015.

The Pinnacle tournament series differs by using the Coup system:

  • Each player is allowed 1 “coup” per series. Players can use a coup to ban opponent’s deck after seeing the matchup.

Notable Decks

The most notable decks were used by Gaara which were noticeably absent from the released deck lists.

Notable Statistics

Gaara’s decks are not represented in the stats.

Piloted Shredder and Dr. Boom continue to be the most prevalent cards in Hearthstone. The Shredder appeared in 60.7% of decks, this was 25% ahead of the next common card, Ironbeak Owl. Dr. Boom didn’t hit the 75% he did in the ESL Grand Final, but he did manage to wind up in 64.3% of decks. Loatheb and Sylvanas Windrunner continue to be top tier legendaries appearing in 50% of decks.

While Paladin saw zero play at ESL it seemed to be the fourth deck of choice between it and Warrior representing 10.7% of the decks. Druid still remains the top dog, while Rogue trailed it by a mere 3.5%. Priest was the big loser being brought by none of the players.

ESL Legendary Series Grand Final Winter 2014/2015

ESL’s Legendary Series for Winter 2014/2015 has reached its conclusion. The Grand Finals took place February 21st and 22nd, it sent the top point getters and winners from prior weeks against each other in best of five double elimination matches.

Notable Decks

Notable Stats

If you are unsure if Dr. Boom is overpowered then the fact that it appeared in 75% of the decks might sway you. It might be time to bring back your big minions with Big Game Hunter only appearing in 37.5% of decks, while Azure Drake has stood the test of time as one of the most consistent 5 drops by showing up in 45.8% of decks. If you were looking for a runner up to Dr. Boom as the most successful card from Goblins vs. Gnomes then look no further then Piloted Shredder who showed up in 62.5% of decks.
