ESGN – Fight Night (Season 6) – Round 5: ManaGrind vs. Clarity Gaming Decks and Results

The final match in the ManaGrind vs. Clarity Gaming series! Clarity Gaming has already wrapped up Season 6 with the victory, but with more money on the line they’ll both be trying hard for victory. Check out the decks and results below.

Game 1

ManaGrind –  HandLock vs. Clarity Gaming – Midrange/Ramp Druid

An early Mountain Giant from ManaGrind, but it is dispatched immediately by a top decked Big Game Hunter. This is followed up by another Mountain Giant, but Clarity Gaming TOP DECKS ANOTHER BIG GAME HUNTER. ManaGrind looks devastated, and are forced to Siphon Soul the Big Game Hunter. A Druid of the Claw comes out and finishes off the HandLock.

Result: Clarity Gaming Wins (1- 0)

Game 2

ManaGrind – Midrange Shaman vs. Clarity Gaming – Midrange/Ramp Druid

A lot of trading of board control in the early and into the mid-game. ManaGrind grabs the board with Fire Elemental and a Lightning Bolt, but they’re at 19 health and Clarity Gaming is sitting on the Force of Nature into Savage Roar combo. Defender of Argus protects ManaGrind from being blown out, and the taunts force the Druid to come out with the combo prematurely and can’t finish the Shaman. ManaGrind stabilizes at 14 health, and Clarity Gaming is looking to be in a tough spot at 10 health. The taunts keep coming for the Shaman, and Clarity Gaming is forced to concede.

Result: ManaGrind Wins (1 – 1)

Game 3

ManaGrind –  Midrange Shaman  vs. Clarity Gaming – Freeze Mage

Shaman jumps out early, but a board clear with Doomsayer for the Mage. Mid-game is Azure Drake and Cairne Bloodhoof for the Shaman, and an Ice Barrier, Mirror Image for Mage. Shaman increasing their board presence with a Chillwind Yeti into Unbound Elemental. The board is immediately hit with Blizzard by the Mage. Shaman’s board increases further with another Unbound Elemental, and the Mage decides to cast Ice Block. The Mage continues to stall with an Ice Barrier and a Frost Nova. Alexstrasza comes out for the Mage with a coin ping to the Shaman’s face. ManaGrind is dead, but they don’t know it yet. Frost Bolt, Ice Lance, Fireball into Ping finishes off ManaGrind.

Result: Clarity Gaming Wins (2 – 1)

Game 4

ManaGrind –  Control Paladin  vs. Clarity Gaming – Freeze Mage

Two Chillwind Yeti’s for the Paladin, and a Doomsayer into Frost Nova for the Mage. Doomsayer pops and clears the board. Ragnaros the Firelord comes out on ManaGrind’s side and Clarity Gaming doesn’t have a great way to deal with it. Mirror Image comes out, but a Consecrate into a Faceless Manipulator on the Ragnaros the Firelord does 18 damage to the Mage. Clarity Gaming is forced to blow all of its damage on killing the Rags. Tirion comes out for the Paladin, and Alexstrasza brings the Paladin down to 15. Tirion and a Consecrate finish off Alexstrasza. The Mage looks to be drawing dead and loses to a Ysera to the face.

Result:  ManaGrind Wins (2 – 2)

Game 5

ManaGrind –  Control Paladin  vs. Clarity Gaming – Aggro Warrior

A surprise Aggro Warrior comes out for Clarity Gaming, which might be a tough deck to win with against a healing Paladin. The Warrior gets him down to 15 health, but a coined Guardian of Kings comes out and heals him back to 21. Arcane Golem into Heroic Strike for the Warrior. Unfortunately, two Arcane Golems puts the Paladin into mana range of Lay on Hands. A Brawl clears everything but a Guardian of Kings. The Paladin is at 6 and the Warrior is sitting on a Mortal Strike! The Paladin fills up the board and the Warrior can top deck a win here, but draws an Argent Squire. The Warrior is forced to use Mortal Strike on a Spellbreaker. The Warrior is looking for a top deck Leeroy Jenkins, but pulls an Amani Berserker and concedes.

Result:  ManaGrind Wins (3- 2)
