General Mulligans
In general, you're looking for any of these cards to pop up in your opening hand, but some combinations of these cards are better then others. For instance, Wyrm + Apprentice + Spell is the classic combination. Book + Apprentice is another good combo to keep allowing you to potentially tempo out the spell you get from Book. This early in the meta, it's hard to know exactly what deck you'll be facing, so base your mulligan more on what you want and less on what you think the opponent will have.
This is a new spin on an old classic, featuring only 1 new card from Un’Goro, Primordial Glyph . The loss of Flamewaker is painful for this decks early game. The deck still retains its early lethality and board presence thanks to Babbling Book, Mana Wyrm, and Sorcerer's Apprentice. This deck still retains the raw early game power of old tempo mage, boasting very strong turn 1-3 plays. The loss of Flamewaker pushes this deck to a more value focused mid game, whereas previously the mid game was where tempo mage of old turned up the heat and went for the kill. I’ll update this page with any card changes I make in the near future as I explore this deck.
