Thijs has added a couple more cards to the newly formed Secrets Hunter and thinks this could be a tier 1 deck: “Want to play a new tier 1 deck? This Hunter version feels insane to me.” [Source]

The deck adds Kindly Grandmother and Barnes from The Opera wing, but also adds a card like Secretkeeper which I had not seen previously. We’ll see how well this deck does in the future!

Thijs, I was just wondering what can replace Ragnoras the Firelord because I didn’t unlock Blackrock yet and it will end soon. I really like this deck otherwise.

He’s not playing this deck himself.
He improved it a while ago.

i have 1 bear trap in my deck but since nobody else plays it i was wondering if i should take it out, is it worth having?
i was also wondering if the new card, cat trick is any good.

A 4-2 with stealth seems better to me than a 3-3 with taunt, so i would go cat trick.

Is Ragnaros worth crafting for this deck? I’ve read mixed reviews on whether he is viable in the current meta, and worth crafting. I don’t tend play the other decks/ classes he is commonly used in…
Are there any cheap substitutes for him? Or is he a must-include in this deck?

I think you can run something differently in this deck, but Ragnaros got better when Barnes came out. You could try second Unleash or an Infested Wolf.

Rangos is good in all decks and is worth crafting

Very well balanced deck, took only 5 hours from 9 to 1st rank(Asia).
Choosing secrets according to opponents’ class seems to affect the winning rate very much.
There’s always other ways to win the game even if I can’t draw some core cards(Barnes, Huntress..).
So thank you for this wellmade deck!

Fun when it works, but I’m dubious about the negative syngergy with the non-beasts.

More often than not you’re left without an activator for houndmaster or kill command, and the odds of drawing a crappy (or unplayable) opening hand even with mulligan seem to be pretty high in my experience.

I really want to like this deck, because I enjoy secret play. But overall it seems (to me) like a less reliable version of midrange hunter.

The fact that you like secret pally negates any opinion you have.

“Secret play”, i.e. Playing with secrets.

Reading comprehension is hard, I know.

This deck is great. Reank 10 – 7 pretty easily from a Golden Hunter who has achieved rank 5 every month for the last year.

hit legend today with it from rank 7 to legend, 58% win rate, only issue with it is lack of card draw.

I added a few fireballs to the deck and its ricking now

Since u are running barnes maybe swap houndmaster for infested wolf?? Its generally a better pick imo. And maybe u should consider yogg, so many spells in this deck

I’m a gold Hunter and I just went on an insane losing streak with this deck, from rank 4 back to 6. I’m curious to know what rank you guys were playing at? Maybe I’m just getting bad match-ups though, but it seems like a lot of cards are dead in your hand, like Houndmaster, I’m constantly forced to play him on his own because beast synergy is so low. I’m going to keep trying this deck though…

barnes and cloaked huntress is the main core of this deck. copying SH with barnes or kindly grandmother is really good. while your secret package and cloaked huntress make quite reactionary compared to other hunter deck

Many decks from PRO players need to be tested in a short period of time to improve some stuff.
I saw Thijs played this deck on stream and had many wins with it.
I added 2-quickshots, remove fiery bat. Remove second houndmaster, added Stampeding kodo.

Thanks for the tips. I swapped out Houndmaster for Infested wolf because of the lack of activators, plus Infested Wolf has better synergy with Barnes and Kill Command. That seems to have improved my win rate.

@Alsozatch I actually hate Face Hunter and I’ve been wanting Blizzard to give Hunter control cards and card draw for as long as I can remember. I’ve always played Midrange and Control Hunter (when it works).

Only 5 in a row you say? I’m sure you took into account that rank 4 and 6 also have stars lol. Don’t wear yourself out jumping to conclusions haha
