I’m 13-5 now so I dont know about you guys but I’m having a pretty good time with this deck

The problems I keep having with this deck:

    1. Too many Reno decks for Alex to be the bomb he used to be.

    2. When Alex does stand up, I lack at least one of Frost Bolt, Fireball or Roaring Torch to finish on turn 9/10.

    3. Dirty Rat continuously pulls down minions that make it difficult to remove until at least T4/T5 sometimes T6 and by then, if you lack Reno, it’s game over. (Mountain Giant, Ysera, Finja etc.)

3-10 record so far. Zero contingency if Alex doesn’t stand up.

I agree, I’m not getting consistent wins against OP decks like pirate and druid jade

I think you play this deck wrong.

Dirty rat is supposed to be used will mind control tech, and even with brann you can combo it to steal two card. If you had a decent hand before, you can do crazier combo with thaurissan. I manage to steal a grommash and an alex that i got from his hand that way, and i froze his board the same turn, it his really good against control match up when you manage to pull the combo. Dont play dirty rat on curve, unless against jade battlecry minion, but its really risky.

Wrong, Dirty rat is supposed to be played when you have a removal, either sheep / fireball. The scenario where you ( optional bran ) + dirty rat + mind control tech is very very rare. Vs Pirate warriors i sometimes just throw Dirty rat there, and risk if I don’t have anything consistent for turn 2,3,4 which happens. I don’t play this deck by the way, I think it’s way too tied to certain cards.

It’s a high skillcap deck. If you are a fairly new player, then dont use this deck 🙂 im doing great with it.

im loving this deck to be fair made one change to it no forbidden flame due to not having it yet but put in Manic Soulcaster proving a good choice so far come up against 4 reno decks in the first 6 game i’ve played and won them all nothing worse then seeing somebody drop and reno then copy it instantly .

Awesome late game combo if your opponent has at least 3 minions is:
    Brann -> Dirty Rat -> summons 2 enemies -> MCT -> steals 2 enemies
This can easily wreck your opponents matchplan

yeah but how often will you be able to use this? played the deck 5 times haven’t seen this yet

Dirty rat? Hmmm this looks like it can cost you the game if you’re playing against anything but druid. What do you guys think?

    Why no brann?

Brann doesn’t look too good in this deck only synergizes with 4 cards (book, soulcaster, azdrake, kazakus). Brann tends to be only good in decks where over half the minions have battle cry.

No babbling book here, is mana wirm a good addition?

I put in Ice Lance, to pair with Frostbolt as a potential finisher or to remove a beefy creature.

I’m only missing Soulcaster, so I’ve put a Pyroblast in and let me tell you, nobody expects it at 0 mana! ;D

I feel ya man. I am so bad with this deck, 0-4 so far… At least it was against Priests and another Mage, not Shamans for once. 😛

I’m still getting wrecked with this deck. Only win is when a guy conceded. Sigh.

I havet drawn reno when heving less than 5 cards left in 10 games now. Amazing how unlucky this deck can be. Really aweful deck.

Don’t blame the deck for being unlucky. It is you that is unlucky, simply that. Just continue to play the deck and you will improve the updated decklist is even better. It removes the Antonidas and some other cards which were unnecessary and replaces them with stronger early game cards.

Would Brann trigger Solia for 2 free spells? Probably not eh..

I love this deck, but what you recommend to replace Inkmaster Solia?

    December 1, 2016 at 9:41 pm

Great deck! I haven’t updated mine with the ooze yet but it makes sense, the deck is lacking in early game boar presence and weapons are even more prevalent now as they were before MSG, at least for now.

I homebrewed a Reno mage after I drew Solia and Kazakus in my introductory 90 packs I saved up for, and let me tell you even though I was only off by 5 cards from this list it definitely made all the difference. Kazakus is fun as hell but Solia swing turns are what win me games so far. Solia Flamestrike, Solia Firelands, Solia Kazakus Potion, etc., just cheat so much mana it is absurd.

I keep getting messed up with the random spell draw from cabalists tome and babbling book – throw reno down and almost every time it doesn’t trigger because I now have a duplicate in my deck.

      • mugutu
        December 2, 2016 at 1:40 pm

No you don’t, you have duplicates in your hand which do not affect Reno. Either you’ve literally never had this problem or you’ve never played a Reno deck.

If you throw a second Forgotten Torch you will have two Roaring Torch in your deck.

Just don’t play it unless needed more than playing reno…
