Mulligans
General Mulligans
Mulligans are pretty straightforward. Always keep Nighshade Tea, Overzealous Healer, and Lunarwing Messenger, and basically never keep anything else. Keep Holy Nova against Deathknight for the Leeches, but that's about all I ever do differently. If you play Overzealous Healer on 1, then on turn 2 try to trade and hero power if possible, even with Lunarwing or Tea in hand.Priest
This is a deck I’ve been playing during the Embers of the World Tree mini-set. This is a very slow value/control priest deck (my favourite) which features a unique and exciting win-condition.
The win-condition of this deck centers around three cards: Marin the Manager,
Aviana, Elune's Chosen
The deck’s game plan is to contest the board as a midrange deck to create a safe turn for Aviana, then stall using Repackage, Shield of Askara, and the Imbued Priest Hero Power until you can play Tolin’s Goblet to pull a high-value card.
Some more nuanced tips about this deck:
This deck has some pretty efficient drops it can put down if it draws well, so you can sometimes win through tempo if the opponent doesn’t contest the board enough. If you draw Marin the Manager too early to setup the value engine, don’t be afraid to play Marin for Wondrous Wand to hunt for the other two pieces of the engine. Xavius can help tutor for these as well. Similarily, don’t be afraid to play Malorne the Waywatcher on curve. You usually will not get the discount anyways since the deck only runs four imbue cards. In this deck the imbue serves a less central role, and exists more to fill empty turns or spend remaining mana while waiting to draw the value engine. Sometimes it will be good to use one of the fortunes to play a card earlier or copy a card. For example, you can play a fortune on 9 to get Aviana out a turn earlier, play one to copy a Zarog’s crown if you don’t have Tolin’s Goblet yet, copy Malorne etc.. It can basically be used as a mini version of the value engine to either maintain board pressure or help survive.
