Deck Import

Happy New Mammoth Year!!!

Today is the first day with the new format and I tried to make Lyra work in a deck since i got her first from a pack.
Here are some tips on how to play the deck, a mulligan guide and some replacement options.

1. General Strategy

So the main idea with the deck is that you are playing a control deck. Your goal is going to entail neutralizing your opponents’ threats until you can get Lyra the Sunshard out. If you can get her to stick you will get a lot of value from constantly recycling the spells she gives you.

You have a lot of ways of removing threats with this deck. Cards like Holy NovaShadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death, Dragonfire Potion and the Auchenai Soulpriest Circle of Healing combo can help you stall the game until Lyra is out.

You also have ways of healing with Darkshire Alchemist and Priest of the Feast.

Again, the strategy is pretty straightforward, stay alive, remove threats, apply pressure when you can on board, Forbidden Shaping can help with that, play Lyra, cast 2 – 3 spells, WIN!

2. Mulligan

Against Aggro

Aggro decks will mainly
be played by hunter, warlocks and shamans right now. When you are pretty sure
you are playing against aggro always mulligan for Potion of Madness, northshire
cleric and Radiant Elemental.

Shadow Word: Pain is also a good keep but not too good
against shaman anymore since they lost both the trogg and totem golem.

Keep Injured Blademaster if you have the circle of healing in
hand.

Against Control

Mulligan here is going
to be pretty much the same except for the potion of madness. You may be more
greedy by keeping Priest of the Feast.

Your main focus against control will be to apply
pressure on board so keeping your early game minions is a very good strategy.

3. Replacements

This is really a
prototype deck and you can tweak it as much as you like.

Some budget replacement
would be:

– Forbidden Shaping: This card is very good in the deck because
it’s a spell, therefore has synergy with Lyra and provides a big threat. You
can replace it with a big minion like boulderfist
ogre.

– Dragonfire Potion: This is not an auto-include in the deck,
it’s more of a tech card against big minions, like druid’s. You can always
replace it with Pint-Size Potion that can
have synergy with potion of madness.

– Lyra the Sunshard: This card can’t be replaced otherwise the
whole point of the deck is lost.

– cabal shadow
priest: Nice replacements for this card would be the Kabal Talonpriest for more board control or Greater Healing Potion for more healing or combo with the
auchenai.

Hope you like the deck and may it bring you lots of victories on ladder!!!
